George Michael Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou, better known by his stage name, George Michael, died at age 53, December 25, 2016 (Christmas Day). An 80’s pop icon, he was most famous for his songs, “Careless Whisper,” “Faith,” and “One More Try,” as well as his work in the music duo Wham! George’s publicist claimed he died peacefully in his home. Sharon Jones Sharon Lafaye Jones died November 8, 2016. Known for being the lead singer of the group Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings!, her most notable works include, “Stranger to My Happiness,” “100 Days, 100 Nights,” and “This Land Is Your Land”. The passionate soul and funk singer died of pancreatic cancer at the age of sixty. Leon Russell Leon Russell died November 13, 2016, in Nashville TN at the age of 74. A musician, singer, and songwriter, Russell came out with many commercially successful songs over the span of a sixty year long career. Some of his most popular songs include, “A Song for You,” “Lady Blue,” and “Back To The Island”. Leonard Cohen Leonard Norman Cohen died at age 82, November 7th, 2016 in LA California.
