John McCormack, station manager, explained that the station is one of the most efficient programs operating on campus with only one third of it's budget coming from university funding. The station reaches a broad listening base, covering portions of four states: Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia and North Carolina. The station is National Public Radio's major local affiliate and has been operating since 1982.
