Treasurer Report: Cara Mrs. Sabey will get the bill for the first grade virtual field trip to Cara. Upcoming expenses include the PTO Carnival and fifth grade recognition activities. Principal’s Report: Mrs. Sabey ● The $500 PTO Scholarship recipient was chosen. Hannah Mullins wrote an excellent essay about how Rothschild Elementary and the R.O.C.K.S. program impacted her throughout her time at DC Everest. ● Track and Field will be held as a P.E. unit this year. All grades will participate separately. Third through fifth grade will compete with ribbons to be awarded. ● The fourth grade students will be going to the School Forrest. The fourth grade curriculum for the School Forrest is tapping maple trees to make maple syrup. Staff there will recreate the experience since maple tapping season is over. ● State testing for third through fifth grade will begin next week. Scores for these tests will be available to guardians. ● Mrs. Sabey asked for questions that we may have regarding next school year to bring to her administrators group. Questions raised were about vaccinations, class sizes, and students moving back to in person learning from Everest Virtual Academy. Staff Report: Suzanne Selle See New Business A. below New Business: A. 5th Grade End of Year Recognition Suzanne Selle presented the fifth grade end of the year celebration proposal. The proposal included bowling with lunch and soda (May 27 or June 2), a movie at the theater (tentative date of June 1), bussing, Subway lunch, and an icecream sundae bar. The pizza lunch at Coral Lanes will be provided by the Rothschild Police Department. The movie has not been decided as the list is not yet available. The theater has assured that a G or PG movie will be showing. The estimated cost is $1180.00 which falls within the budgeted amount for the fifth grade recognition. Mrs. Sabey explained the student safety that was taken into consideration while planning the trips to the theater and Coral Lanes. This includes both facilities providing private restroom facilities so that students would not cross paths with the public. The trips were approved by the PTO board (including Amanda who was not present for the meeting). Cara will drop off a check with Mrs. Sabey so items can be paid by the school as needed.
