This being my first year as dean of the conservatory, I greet the Professional Performance season with unabated enthusiasm and excitement. The talented musicians and extraordinary performing faculty at Lynn represent the future of the performing Certificate Recital arts, and you, the patrons, pave the road to their Tuesday, February 14,2006 at 5:30p.m. artistic success through your presence and generosity. Danut Muresan started playing violin at the age of four in his native Timisoara, Romania. In 2000, after graduating from the "Ion Vidu" High School in Romania, he was awarded a full scholarship at the Conservatory of Music at Lynn University, where he graduated in 2004. He is currently continuing his studies at Lynn University, pursuing a Professional Performance Certificate program and studying with professor Sergiu Schwartz.

Over the years, Mr. Muresan has won many national and international competitions such as Kocian Competition in Czech Republic in 1991 (3rd prize), Stresa - , 1994 (1st prize), San Bartolomeo al Mare - Italy, 1995 (1st prize). He is a winner of the 2003 Lynn University Concerto Competition, as well as winner of two scholarships (2003 and 2004) from the Center for the Arts at Mizner Park, Boca Raton.

His activities as a soloist includes concerts with Banatul Philharmonic, Timisoara, Romania, annual recitals in (1994-2000), Paris, (1995), Romania (Bucharest, Timisoara, Brasov).

Mr. Muresan's orchestral experience includes concerts and tours in Iceland, Romania and Germany with E1be-Weser International Youth Orchestra, Germany, (1997-2000), European Tour in Hungary, Austria, Germany, Italy, France, , and in 2001 with Banatul Philharmonic Orchestra. He is currently a member of South-West Florida Symphony in Fort Myers, acting as an Assistant Concert Master, as well as a Principal Second Violin. Occasionally, he also plays with the Palm Beach Opera and the Symphony Orchestra, Palm Beach Pops, Symphony of the Americas, and New Philharmonia Orchestra. He has performed concerts with Frank Sinatrajr., Tom Jobim, Caetano Veloso, and other artists.

Danut Muresan has also recorded for the radio and TV stations across Romania and the United States (WXEL.) Recently, he took part in a jazz festival in Romania and began a recording project for the Bluedream Records, in which he is involved as an associate pecording artist and performer.

Tao Lin

Tao Lin's appearances in Asia, North America and Europe have brought unanimous critical accolades and praise for his subtle, intimate pianism and brilliant technique. As a soloist, he has performed with Winnipeg Symphony, Miami Chamber Orchestra, Knoxville Civic Orchestra, University of Miami Symphony, Harid Philharmonia, and Lynn University Chamber Orchestra. A devoted chamber musician, Mr. Lin performs regularly with the renowned Jacques Thibaud Trio, as well as Miami, Bergonzi, Alcan, and Rosalyra String Quartets. He has also collaborated with distinguished soloists such as Ida Haendel, Charles Castleman, Roberta Peters, Eugenia Zukerman, Philip Quint and Sergiu Schwartz.

Mr. Lin was awarded top prizes in the competitions of the National Society of Arts and Letters, the Music Teacher's National Association, Palm Beach International Invitational amongst others. He was also a fmalist in the 1st International Piano-e-Competition and the 1st Osaka International Chamber Music Competition as a member of the Shanghai Trio.

Mr. Lin has worked with a series of distinguished teachers including Joseph Kalichstein, John Peny, Leon Fleisher, Rita Sloan, Stephen Hough, Ivan Davis, and Roberta Rust. He has recorded for the Piano Lovers record label, and features works by Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, and Balakirev. UPCOMING EVENTS
