The paper traces these stages of political development in order to demonstrate features associated with each stage. It argues further that pre-colonial Akure region, like other Yoruba regions, had a workable political system headed by a monarch. However, the Native Authority Ordinance of 1916, which brought about the establishment of the Native Courts and British judicial administration in the region led to the decline in the political power of the traditional institution.Even after independence, the traditional political institution has continually been subjugated. The work relies on both oral and written sources, which were critically examined. The paper, therefore,argues that even with its present political status in the contemporary Nigerian politics, the traditional political institution is still relevant to the development of thesociety. Keywords: Akure, Political, Social, Traditional and Authority Introduction The paper reviews the political administration ofAkure region from the earliest time to the present and examines the implication of the dynamics between the two periods may have for the future. Helen Twigg and Murray Hitzman iCRAG, School of Earth Sciences, University College Dublin, Belfield, Dublin, Ireland The Neoproterozoic Central African Copperbelt located in southern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the northwestern Zambia and contains 48% of the world’s cobalt reserves and significant resources of copper, zinc, nickel and gold. A good understanding of the geology is critical for successful mineral exploration. However, geological mapping is hindered by low topographic relief, limited outcrop, and a generally deep (10-100m) weathering profile developed since the Late Miocene. Multielement soil geochemistry provides a means for conducting geological mapping. Areas with outcrop or containing drill holes and/or trenches were utilized to relate known geological lithologies with soil geochemical results using major element and trace element ratios. The lithostratigraphy within a study area along the DRC-Zambia border can be geochemically sub- divided into three units. Mixed carbonate and siliciclastic lithologies of the lower portion of the local stratigraphy are typically characterised by elevated V, Ti, and Nb. Mudstones and siltstones are dominated by elevated Al, Fe and Ba. The upper portion of the local stratigraphy is geochemically neutral with regards to trace elements. Lithological discrimination through analysis of soil geochemical data is limited in some areas by intense weathering. A A-CNK-FM diagram exhibits how complete weathering of carbonate rocks and carbonate-rich breccias (after evaporites) results in the somewhat counter intuitive outcome that residual soils above carbonate rocks are amongst the most aluminum rich in the study area with >80% Al2O3 (mol%) or >80% combined Al2O3 (mol%) and FeO + MgO (mol%).

The data preservation strategy complemented the NPS servicewide inventories for paleontological resources. The first phase of the data management, referred to as the NPS Paleontology Synthesis Project, compiled servicewide paleontological resource data pertaining to geologic time, taxonomy, museum repositories, holotype fossil specimens, and numerous other topics. In 2015, the second phase of data management was implemented with the creation and organization of a multi-faceted digital data system known as the NPS Paleontology Archives and NPS Paleontology Library. Two components of the NPS Paleontology Archives were designed for the preservation of both park specific and servicewide paleontological resource archives and data. A third component, the NPS Paleontology Library, is a repository for electronic copies of geology and paleontology publications, reports, and other media.

B, Columbus, OH 43224 ABSTRACT. An analysis of the historical development of the Pennsylvanian stratigraphic nomenclature, as used in Ohio, has helped define and clarify problems inherent in Ohio's stratigraphic nomenclature. Resolution of such problems facilitates further development of a useful stratigraphy and philosophy for mapping. Investigations of Pennsylvanian-age rocks in Ohio began as early as 1819- From 1858 to 1893, investigations by Newberry, I. C. White, and Orton established the stratigraphic framework upon which the present-day nomenclature is based. During the 1950s, the cyclothem concept was used to classify and correlate Pennsylvanian lithologic units. This classification led to a proliferation of stratigraphic terms, as almost every lithologic type was named and designated as a member of a cyclothem. By the early 1960s, cyclothems were considered invalid as a lithostratigraphic classification. Currently, Pennsylvanian nomenclature of Ohio, as used by the Ohio Division of Geological Survey, consists of four groups containing 123 named beds, with no formal formations or members. In accordance with the 1983 North American Stratigraphic code, the Ohio Division of Geological Survey considers all nomenclature below group rank as informal. OHIO J. However, there is a tendency for its quality to deviate from recommended standards as most groundwater sources are close to regions prone to erosion and most well are not usually covered. The tragedy is that the adverse effect might creep into the ecosystem and affects humanity if a regular check on the quality is not been made. The Geographical location and altitude of each well location were taken using Global Positioning System (GPS). The moderate PH range (6.30-7.36) can be linked to low values of TDS (352 mg/L) and EC (695 ms/cm) which are within the standard recommended for drinking- indicate a low concentration of salt contents. The relationship between the parameters shows a direct trend with the hydraulic head. Hence, groundwater sources (wells) in Abeokuta North Local Government are good for drinking. Il peut y avoir des faux amis entre n’importe qu’elles langues en contact surtout pendant une activité traduisante. Dans cette communication, on compte relever les faux amis entre l’Igbo et le Yoruba, deux langues nigérianes qui appartiennent à la famille des langues dite Niger-Congo. On va parler des deux langues sous étude, discuter les causes des faux amis et les problèmes qui en découlent, et puis suggérer des moyens d’y faire face. Tout cela pour sensibiliser les apprenants et les professeurs des deux langues aussi bien que les traducteurs pour qu’ils fassent bien attention au cours de leur travail pour rester fidèle au sens de ce qui est dit, lu ou traduit. Also, the discrimination between English and Yoruba language in the south west states has now become a norm, that modern civilization culture is preferred more than Yoruba cultural heritage and language. These anomalies have caused the disintegration of the native cultural norms thereby putting the language on the verge of extinction in the nearest future which will eventually lead to another psychological and indirect slave trade. The aim of this research is to design and develop a knowledge base cultural traditional system user friendly interface information system for learning of the cultural tradition with the purpose of having a better understanding of the antiquities of the Yoruba cultural norms which will provide antidotes for the revival and restoration of the cultural norms. The iterative model approach was used to iterate the steps of the research progresses of the requirements and iterates the requirements, design, build and test phases again and again for each requirement until the system is completely built. The research coding was done using Microsoft visual studio c# environment, and for the database, MySQL used.
