Description :. Not my favourite tour, as this follows ancient routes on ancient roads, not suited for sports bikes due to the roads being in poor stat and narrow in many places. More suited to Adventure bikes and Touring bikes respectively, but don't be put off if you want to see the splendour and history of the Aquitaine of old, its castles, chateaux, churches holding ancient relics of the era that was Richard the Lion Heart... It is a long day on a complex route due to this I do drop you on the A20 for a few junctions t eat a few miles quickly on the return leg...

Head southwest on Theil - Continue onto Caud and Turn right at the T-Junct onto D16

At Chamberet Turn left onto D3 Rilhac Treignac/Uzerche

Continue to follow D3 To Uzerche

Turn left D3 follow Toutes Directions

Turn right onto Rue du Pont Turgot D3

Take 2nd Exit on roundabout and under bridge

Turn left onto D920 towards A89; Vigeois and Pompadour Turn right onto the D3 towards Pompadour

Continue through Vigeois

Slight right where the D3 becomes the D7 towards Pompadour - Continue on the D7

Turn left onto D901- Chateau Pompadour is on your right Coffee and Photo Stop

Slight right D7/D6/D7 towards Segure le Chateau

Turn right onto D6E towards Segure le Chateau Slight left onto D6 Chateau on the Right Continue to follow D6 out of Segure le Chateau

Continue onto D18 through Glandon towards St Yrieix la Perche

Turn right onto D704 towards Centre Ville/Limoges/Rochechouart

At the roundabout, take the 4th exit onto D901 towards Centre Ville/Jumilhac Le G/Rochechouart Mediaeval enclosure is on the right

Continue to follow D901towards Le Chalard

Châlucet mediaeval fortress is on the right up the D59A2

Continue on D901 towards Chalus At Chalus CHALUS-MAULMONT and CHALUS-CHABROL are streight ahead

Turn Left onto N21 then immediately right onto Rue Nationale/D6B Continue to follow D6B towards Nontron / Dournazac / Cheteau de Brie

After Dournazac Turn right onto D64 towards Cussac /Chateau Montbrun

Turn Left stay on D64 toward towards Cussac / Chateau de Brie Turn Right onto D213 towards Cussac - Chateau Montbrune is on the right

Turn right onto D100 towards Chateau de Brie Turn left onto D42 towards Cussac - Chateau de Brie is on your right

Slight right onto D22 towards Cussac 0,5

Turn left onto D699 towards Saint-Mathieu Continue to follow D699 towards Saint-Mathieu

Merge onto the D675 and back onto D699 towards Montbron / Montemboeuf

Turn right onto D33towards Montemboeuf / Les Salless

Turn left onto D34 Church is on the left (retrace your steps to the Junct) continue on D34 towards Veyres

At Chabanais Turn right toward N141 At the roundabout, take 3rd exit onto D948 and Chateau de Rochebrune - Coffe Stop Food is good here

Return to the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto N141 towards Montlucon/Gueret/Limoges

At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto D943 merge onto D941towards St Junien

At St Junien Turn right onto D675 Towards St Laurent sur Gore / Les Cars / Nexon

Turn left onto D21 Continue on D21 Towards St Laurent sur Gore / Les Cars / Nexon Slight right onto D699 through Gore

Turn Right at MEILHARDS Continue on the D20 Shortly after MEILHARDS join the D132 on Very sharp LEFT Bend

T-Junction turn LEFT onto the D3 to CHAMBERET

In CHAMBERET turn RIGHT at the Crossroads onto the D16 Turn left at D178 towards Caud / Theil - Continue straight onto Caud Continue onto Theil
