Intermediate/Advanced Class

Instructors: Barbara Seagram, John Rayner, and Michael Donnelly

Barbara Seagram is the author of many bridge books, including being a co- author of the popular and widely known book 25 Bridge Conventions You Should Know. This book received the American Bridge Teacher’s Association of the Year aware in 1999 and is now in its 13th printing. Barbara is a Life Master and a Master Teacher.

Barbara will teach Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings.

Wednesday: Defensive strategy and signaling against suit contracts Thursday: How to defeat NT contracts Friday: Taking tricks with tiny cards - how to improve your declarer play

Monday – Friday afternoons include 3 hours of duplicate play, which Barbara calls DUPLICATE WITH A DIFFERENCE - everyone having fun! Barbara will join in the afternoon duplicate session as a partner for the lucky student who wins the drawing on the prior day.

John Rayner is the winner of the “Kate Buckman” award to the person who most adds to other’s enjoyment of the game of bridge as well as the winner of the “Audrey Grant” award for excellence and professionalism in teaching bridge. He is a frequent guest speaker at sectional, regional, and national tournaments and is the owner/manager of the Mississauga-Oakville Bridge Center in Canada. He has represented Canada many times at the World Bridge Championships including the .

Both sessions will focus on the and how the auction develops after the takeout double has been made. Takeout doubles by the opening bidder and the overcaller will also be discussed as well as penalty doubles.

Afternoon Duplicate Sessions

Michael Donnelly is a Life Master and certified director with the ACBL for more than 15 years. He teaches all levels of bridge throughout South Florida and writes on bridge theory for the Florida Sunshine Bridge News. He has also been a certified duplicate director and directs numerous duplicate games all year. He will be supervising the daily afternoon Duplicate Sessions for the entire week.

Beginner/Intermediate Class: Understandable Bridge in a Logical Manner - A More Competitive Approach to Your Game

Instructor: Dr. Chuck Schneiderman, MD

Chuck Schneiderman is a Life Master, ACBL Club Director, ACBL Accredited Teacher, ABTA Professional Teacher, Bridge Teacher/Instructor and Director for ACBL sanctioned Master Points on many cruise ships. Before he retired from medicine, Chuck was also an assistant clinical professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at both George Washington University School of Medicine and Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC. Chuck will teach morning and afternoon sessions. He has developed his lecture series featuring Understandable Bridge in a Logical Manner which he has taught successfully in and around Palm Beach and on cruises.
