Executive Summary Gladstone has not completed a Recreation Plan since 1994. One of the significant challenges for Gladstone City will be to accommodate an extra 17,000 people in the next 20 years. The rate of growth, whilst manageable, will require careful planning to ensure that the quality of life the City is striving to achieve and maintain, is realised. Gladstone is a modern industrial city with a young population. This particular mix of demographics and work environment has a strong influence on the way that sport and recreation
