These trails are an incredible resource for all levels of fitness and many types of outdoors pursuits. Excellent for hiking, biking, skiing, and exploring - the options include the Victoria Rail Trail and the Kawartha Lakes Trans Canada Trail. Discover the North/South route of the Victoria Rail Trail which runs 55km north from Lindsay to Kinmount and then on to Haliburton; or head south to Bethany and beyond! Just north of Lindsay the trail passes through Ken Reid Conservation Area. Here trail EARTH
users can veer off the rail-trail and enjoy the boardwalks and environs of Ken Reid TO including a beach and more challenging mountain biking and hiking trails. These same trails are perfect for skiing and snow-shoeing during the winter months. The surface of the DOWN Victoria Rail Trail is varied and is suitable for mountain bikes and hiking along it’s entire :
length. Some sections are of a harder surface and are therefore appropriate for a wider REDIT collection of recreational pursuits - please contact the numbers below for more details. The comfortable surface along with the incredible views along the way draw people from all over to walk or roll along the trail. Not to be missed is Doube’s Trestle Bridge which spans 200m across Buttermilk Valley at a height ofalmost 30m. These are views you can’t access by road and well worth the effort to get there!
