2019 in Review: The Corpus Christi Hooks posted their second losing record since 2015, going 2019 FOR THE RECORD 66-73 (.475) overall to finish last in the four-team Texas League South Division. After a June slump (.241 AVG, 5 HR, 17 RBI, .313 OBP), Beer batted .337 (32-for-95, 9 HR, 24 RBI, .462 OBP) to earn Texas League Player of the Month for July. In that time, he rose from Houston’s No. 10 prospect to No. 3 in the system and No. 100 in baseball according to MLB.com.
