Major Highway Improvements Connect City to I-64/65 Corridor UTTING Owensboro “on the map” has been a major goal of business leaders and elected officials in recent years. Owensboro has long been served by two limited-access park- ways: Audubon Parkway runs to Henderson while the Natcher Parkway connects to I-65 near Bowling Green. The Greater Owens- boro Chamber of Commerce successfully lobbied in recent years to have both designated as future Interstate spurs by Congress. The Audubon Parkway will become an I-69 spur in western Kentucky in the coming years. The Natcher Parkway will eventually be an Interstate spur connecting Owensboro to I-65. “We’re well on our way to transforming Owensboro from a community that has traditionally been considered somewhat ‘trans- portation poor’ to one that is fully intermodal,” said Jody Wassmer, president of the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce.
