Decent conclusion to Hickman's FF runBy 1AnimeFanPOSSIBLE SPOILERS, although I'll try to focus more on general themes of the book.-The first issue of this volume consists of Reed and Nathaniel taking 1,000 year jumps forward in time to try and learn if the Future Foundation is successful or not. Very interesting, kind of a sad conclusion.-The second issue details the origin of 1 of the members of The Council of Reed Richards. Interesting Elseworlds-style tale.-The third issue sees the Fantastic Four shrinking down and going inside of a longtime character in order to remove a dangerous tumor.-The next issues show Reed, Sue, and the Future Foundation students on a journey to Wakanda. While there, they have to deal with a horde of mummies sent by the Egyptian God Anubis. Also, Reed and T'Challa enter the Wakandan Necropolis on a journey which I suspect may have implications for the ongoing "New Avengers" currently being penned by Hickman.-The next part of this volume features The Defenders of Tomorrow and their journey for a new home world.-The next issue showcases the Wizard- led A.I.M. organization buying the island of Barbuda. The Fantastic Four (and Spider-Man) are sent by the U.S. President on a diplomatic mission. Events of these issues continue into the Marvel NOW! Secret Avengers series.-The final part is a follow-up on Doctor Doom after his sacrifice to stall the Celestials. We get a disturbing idea of what the good Doctor's ideal world would be like. This issue also plots a new direction for Nathaniel and Future Val.This was an enjoyable read. Hickman put a lot of work into tying up lose ends ahead of handing the FF over to Matt Fraction. If you have been following Hickman's run up to this point, there is no reason not to buy this volume.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.     Adventure Quest I spent the spring break of my Junior year of college going through my basement. My mother had charged me with combing my things, throwing out everything I didn’t need and picking what I would take when my family moved to Atlanta, Georgia later the next month. In a box of old papers and binders from high school, I found a notebook containing one of the many “choose your own adventure” stories my best friend, Josh Saville, and I had written. Flipping through the pages it became clear to me what I wanted to spend the next year working on. Excited at my idea, I quickly told Josh of my plans, and he joined my excitement for our future project. That summer we began writing the original story that I would adapt into a choose-your-own-adventure-style comic book that would become Adventure​ Quest​. Then, as well as now, my first interest when it comes to this project is branching storytelling. My first encounter with this type of narration, like many people, was with the classic Choose​ Your Own Adventure​ book series. As a child, the ability to have agency in the story in front of me was exhilarating. It wasn’t until later in High School that I, along with Josh, became fascinated with the underlying structure and framework of these stories as well as the unique possibilities second person narration gives to a work of prose. My second interest in this project is the problem of adapting prose in a visual way for a comic book.
