It is the only yachting event held in Odisha every year. The regatta is being conducted on Enterprise class boats. Though it is not an Olympic class boat, the Enterprise is still considered as one of the best sailing boats to hone the basic sailing skills. Sailing is a challenging sport, which requires equal measures of both physical and mental toughness. The sport is catching up in a big way in India. I was selected among all to explain about camp and strength benefits of camp to our respected VIPs. It was like a dream come true. I was really happy and excited to be the one there for the briefing. First VIP that arrived was DIRECTOR GENERAL OF NCC. I was selected to brief him. Before that I had already practiced my script many times and rehearsed it. Many army, navy officers came and made chances on it. I’m a quick learner so it wasn’t difficult for me to adapt & rehearse. Once this was done, CO OF 1 GOA NU NCC decided that I will be there in all VIP briefing. First day DG NCC was there I gave briefing to him then after. After that FLAG OFFICER GOA AREA / FLAG OFFICER NAVAL AVATATION. The most important and highly awaited moment was about to come, where I was selected to by DG NCC to give briefing to RRM. This special opportunity that I got through NCC is a lifelong achievement for me. CONCULSION Thus, I sincerely thank from the core of my heart to my Unit, my C.O sir, ANO Sir, my P.I Staff and my Seniors for their immense support and guidance. At last, the camp was a great success for us as well as for the whole directorate. We learned a lot of new things during the camp, made a couple of new friends. As it is said “When something you toil for becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure.” We worked hard for the competition, and now looking back on those memories they have become a treasure for us. • Uphill Rescue
Uphill rescue The top change in Uttarakhand is indicative of the limits of running a State from New Delhi our days short of four years after he was sworn in, Trivendra Singh Rawat was asked by the Bharati- Fya Janata Party (BJP) central leadership to make way for Tirath Singh Rawat as Chief Minister of Uttarak- hand. The new CM was sworn in on Wednesday. The outgoing Mr. Rawat failed to keep the house in order; party workers and MLAs had distanced themselves from him. In fact, his very selection as CM in 2017 had less to do with his popularity or leadership skills than the central leadership’s liking for him. He was seen as an imposition from above. Far from building bridges with the BJP workers and MLAs, his style of functioning further alienated him from the party ecosystem. Party leaders felt ignored in decision making, and power was increasingly concentrated. While party functionaries were sidelined, governance fell more into the hands of bureaucrats. The BJP has 57 MLAs in the 70-member As- sembly and at least half of them had turned against the outgoing CM. Allegations of corruption hastened his downfall, but the determining factor was his singular failure to hold the party flock together. The State goes to elections next year and the BJP could not have afford- ed to let him lead it. Success or failure will now be in the kitty of the incoming Mr. Rawat. The change of guard in a State, giving up on its hand- picked person, is uncharacteristic of the BJP leader- ship, and hence marks discontinuity.
