This consolidation has created a “Power of One” gift. The efficiencies being driven by our Business Resource Groups (BRGs) are epic. BRG events started with Black History Month, during which we saw an uptick in collaboration across both BRGs and agencies. For example, at 35 West Wacker in Chicago BRGs came together under an umbrella coined “The Collective” to ideate and activate an entire month of events and educational programming. The Collective is made up of Publicis Groupe’s VivaWomen of Color and MOCA (Men of Color Alliance) business resource groups as well as Starcom’s BASE, Spark’s NOIR, Digitas’ Onyx and Leo Burnett’s Shades business resource groups. This collaborative spirit is also manifesting itself during Women’s History Month. Sharing resources, time, and locations has given a new spirit to the intersectionality of our BRGs and visibility which has led to an increase in membership. Our BRGs have set a new membership record, with 5,750 people now affiliated with our nine Publicis Groupe–level BRGs across their 54 chapters in the U.S. market. Learning from each other has power that extends beyond our personal awareness; it builds on our potential to deliver to our clients. You can add to this BRG collaboration and excitement shared across the agencies by joining a BRG of interest to you. Please support their activities and programs as best you can. Check out the reports of our BRGs in this edition of the newsletter. With all that they do to help shape a positive culture for all, you can be proud of the work they are doing to help shape a positive and inclusive culture. Also, please be on the lookout for a special-edition newsletter with insights from our agency leaders as it relates to diversity and inclusion. Warmly, Sandra 3 Upcoming Professional Development Opportunities & Events Second Quarter Professional Development Opportunities Interested in participating in one of our upcoming professional development sessions? Unconscious bias helps us filter what gets our attention. Delivered by Cook Ross, the Unconscious Bias seminar provides a clearer understanding of unconscious behavior and its influence on individuals and organizational culture. This program supports participants in helping to recognize patterns or “norms” of behavior that can exert enormous influence over organizational and business decisions, choices, and behaviors related to recruiting, hiring decisions, job assignments, performance reviews, and advancement choices. If diversity is “the mix,” then inclusion is making the mix work by leveraging the wealth of knowledge, insights, and perspectives in an open, trusting, and diverse workplace. This workshop addresses what it takes to be a 21st-century leader in dynamic and complex environments. It also provides thought on what makes us global leaders, innovation leaders, change leaders, and growth leaders with a comprehensive five-step action plan for successful leadership. The Women’s Leadership Network (WLN) across the organization championed various efforts in support of the day and balance for women around the world. WLN New York kicked off the day with a Mimosa toast and healthy breakfast. The team created “Women Who Inspire Me” boards to capture experiences about extraordinary women who break boundaries and inspire greatness. These “shout-outs” were shared aloud during the toast celebration. Also, during the breakfast toast and throughout the day, WLN hosted a postcard station so the NY team could send a postcard to any women who inspired them. Publicis Sapient Cleveland celebrated International Women’s Day by supporting Dress for Success’ Your Hour, Her Power campaign, calling on individuals to give just one hour of pay to help women in Northeast Ohio achieve financial independence and upward mobility. The Cleveland team also celebrated throughout the week by sharing articles, offering a yoga and meditation session, having catering needs supported by a local female- owned business, hosting screenings of films with strong female leads, and holding a book club and podcast session where they discussed the book The Person You Mean To Be – How Good People Fight Bias, by Dolly Chugh, and shared favorite podcasts that empower women. In Detroit, Publicis Sapient set the goal of celebrating the week by tackling gender bias. Team members were encouraged to share an example of a gender bias they’ve experienced at any point in their career, by capturing it on the office chalkboard wall. The visual representation, while anonymous, was intended to show the collective impact of all gender bias in the workplace and allow team members the opportunity to be proactively mindful of these examples and work together for greater balance. Members of the WLN team created buttons for the office and hosted a viewing of the documentary 13th, directed by Ava DuVernay. All week long, team members were also asked to bring in new or gently used women’s items to donate to local charity, CareerDress, in support of women seeking and needing to sustain employment. The Miami team held a raffle
