The Pan-London Coordinated Admissions System Transfer To The Pan-London Coordinated Admissions System Transfer to Secondary School September 2020 The Pan-London Coordinated Admissions System: the background 1. Since September 2005, all 33 London Local Authorities and 4 local authorities that border London have co-ordinated admissions to their schools 2. The system is a voluntary extension of the requirement by the Government that all councils co- ordinate admissions to their schools within their area 3. Previously parents in London who applied to several schools, often in more than one Local Authority, may have received more than one offer, which meant that others received no offer at all 4. The Pan London system reduces multiple offers and gives one offer per parent across London at the initial stage. Making your application: step by step 1. Find out as much as you can about the schools that you are considering: • look at the Local Authority online booklets get the school prospectus • Get the school prospectus • go to open days 2. Identify any schools that need a supplementary form 3. Consider the admission criteria for each school in order to assess the likelihood of being offered a place 4. Only once you have all of this information should you complete the application 5. You must complete the application form for the Local Authority in which you live, regardless of the location of the schools you wish to apply for or where your child currently attends school. Making your application: step by step 6. On the application form you will be asked to provide details of your child, including their address and their current school 7. The address must be your child’s normal place of residence, and not a temporary, child-minder's, relative’s or business address 8. You must name the schools that you wish to apply for, wherever they are in the country, and these schools must be ranked in the order that you prefer them 9. If you live in Sutton you can name up to 6 schools. 11. You must submit the application form to your home Local Authority by 31 October 2019. Making your application: applying online You can apply online anytime up to midnight on 31 October 2019 at: www.sutton.gov.uk/admissions www.eadmissions.org.uk/eAdmissions/app You will receive e-mail confirmation once your form has been submitted Once submitted you can change your application at any time until midnight on 31 October 2019 You will be able to view and print a copy for your own records CROYDON Apply online at www.eadmissions.org.uk Click on register to apply online and enter your email address. If you have previously used the online system, select ‘login to an existing account’ and enter your username and password. Once you have registered on the eAdmissions site, you will receive an email with your username and a link. • Click the link to validate your email address. • You will be sent a second email with your password and a new link to the start of the application process. • Please keep your username and password safe as you will need them to login and apply for any other children you have, and to see the outcome of your application. Making your application: supplementary forms 1. Some schools require supplementary form or online registration to gather additional information they need in order to apply their admission criteria -all Catholic schools 2. Failure to return a supplementary form or complete an online registration by the date it is required will mean that the school will be unable to consider your child’s application fully and your child may not be included in the tests 3. You can find out if a school requires a supplementary form or online registration by: • looking in the Local Authority online booklet on the Local Authority’s website • contacting the school • contacting the Local Authority for the school 4. Supplementary forms for Sutton schools will be available from, the school’s website or by contacting the schools direct Making your application: key dates • 16 August 2019 Closing date for the return of supplementary forms for Greenshaw, Sutton Grammar School, Wallington County Grammar, Wallington High School for Girls, Nonsuch High School for Girls and Wilson’s School • 27 September 2019 Closing date for return of supplementary forms to Carshalton High School for Girls (Music or Sport) • 27 September 2019 Closing date for Performing Arts workshop supplementary forms to be returned to Glenthorne (Performing Arts) • 31 October 2019 Closing date for return of supplementary forms to St Philomena’s and The John Fisher and online registration for Glenthorne Banding test • 31 October 2019 Closing date for online applications or Common Application Form to be returned to your Home Local Authority Transfer to secondary school: test dates • Carshalton High School for Girls Music or Sport aptitude: 12 or 16 October 2019 • Glenthorne performing arts workshop: 12 October 2019 • Glenthorne banding test: 23 November 2019 • Greenshaw ability test: 17 September 2019* • Nonsuch selective test: 17 September 2019* • Sutton Grammar selective test: 17 September 2019* • Wallington County Grammar selective test: 17 September 2019* • Wallington High School for Girls’ selective test: 17 September 2019* • Wilson’s selective test: 17 September 2019* *Joint eligibility test Open Evenings Stanley Park High 17 September 2019 5.30 – 8.30pm Woodcote High School (Croydon) 19 September 2019 6.30 – 9.30* Sutton Grammar School For Boys 25 September 2019 4.00 – 9.00pm Greenshaw High School 26 September 2019 5.30 – 8.30pm (last entry 8.00pm) Harris Academy Sutton 28 September 2019 9.30 – 13.00pm (check times) Blenheim High School 2 October 2019 (check times), open mornings Jul/Oct Overton Grange School 3 October 2019 5.30 – 8.30pm Cheam High School 10 October 2019 5.30 – 8.30pm *plus two morning sessions 18 Sep/2 Oct Wilson's School 27 June 2019 3.30 – 8.30pm (last entry 8.00pm) Wallington High School For Girls 4 July 2019 4.00 – 8.30pm (last entry 7.45pm) St Philomena’s Catholic High School 2 July 2019 3.30 – 8.00pm Wallington County Grammar School 4 July 2019 3.30 – 8.00pm (Last entry 7.30pm) Rosebury 4 July 2019 from 6.00pm to 8.30pm NonsuchHigh School For Girls 11 July 2019 4.00 – 8.30pm The John Fisher School 12 September 2019 4.00 – 8.00pm Carshalton Boys’ Sports College 19 September 2019 5.00 – 8.00pm Carshalton High School For Girls 19 September 2019 5.30 – 8.00pm Glenthorne High School 18 September 2019 6.00 – 9.00pm VIRGO FIDELIS Open mornings WEDNESDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER – 9:00am– 10:30am WEDNESDAY 25TH SEPTEMBER 9:00am – 10:30am Open evening TUESDAY 1ST OCTOBER 4:30pm – 7:30pm THOMAS MOORE Open evening TUESDAY 2ND OCTOBER 6:00pm – 9:00pm Open afternoons will be confirmed after the open evening event ST MARYS HIGH SCHOOL Open evening WEDNESDAY 25th SEPTEMBER 2019 - 5.00pm – 7.00pm Open mornings MONDAY 30th SEPTEMBER to FRIDAY 4th OCTOBER 2019 - 9.00am – 10.00am Open afternoon TUESDAY 15th OCTOBER 2019 – 4:00pm – 5:00pm St. JOSEPH’S Monday 23/9/19 5:00-8:00 Tuesday 2/10/19 8:40 -10:20 Thursday 3/10/19 8:40 -10:20 Wednesday 9/10/19 8:40 -10:20 COLOMA Thursday 26/9/19 5:00 – 7:00 Please note that Greenshaw High School, Sutton Grammar School, Wallington County Grammar School, Wallington High School for Girls, Nonsuch High School for Girls and Wilson’s School are running a joint eligibility test on Tuesday 17th September 2019. • The London Borough of Sutton Annual Report 2016/17 It Is a Real Pleasure to Present This Report at a Time When the Duke of Edinburgh’S Award in Sutton Is Thriving
The London Borough of Sutton Annual Report 2016/17 It is a real pleasure to present this report at a time when The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Sutton is thriving. As we move into a second year of a new licensing model, I’m delighted to report that opportunities for young people are significantly increasing. As you will see from the report, more young people than ever before are taking part in a DofE programme – nearly 1,700 young people started a DofE programme in Sutton this year. The number of young people going on to achieve an Award is also rising significantly – nearly 800 young people achieved an Award in Sutton; an increase of 73% on the previous year. The breadth of activities that young people are taking up, of their own choosing, is also impressive. We have seen them starting recycling projects, caring for animals, coaching younger children, volunteering at summer school, taking up new sports such as climbing and archery and travelling to new countries for their DofE Expedition and Residential. All of these activities have arisen from increasing opportunities for young people to do their DofE and it is important that we capitalise on the current momentum and huge desire that young people have to take part. My role is to ensure that young people have the opportunities to take part in a DofE programme – not just at the Bronze level, but also at the higher Silver and Gold levels. Where we have a desire by young people to undertake their DofE programme, I wish to ensure that any barriers to their participation are removed.

  • Newsletter 30 08/06/2018
Newsletter 30 08/06/2018 Dear Parents, We have begun the final half term as we mean to go on with an action-packed week! Please do keep an eye on the newsletters and dates list between now and 20th July as there is so much going on. We have had two amazing year group adventures this week, with Year 6 visiting the Houses of Parliament and Year 1 taking a trip to Windsor Castle as part of their Castles topic. Early on Wednesday morning Year 6 met at Epsom station to catch the 7.22 am train to Waterloo!! The children had a wonderful visit with a tour of the Pal- ace of Westminster, including a visit to both the House of Commons and the House of Lords and even a meeting with our local MP, Chris Grayling who took time out of his busy schedule to meet up with the group and answer some questions. Afterwards they took a walk through St James’ Park to see Buckingham Palace and even managed to catch the changing of the guard. All in all, a superb trip! Thank you to all the adults who got up extra early on Wednesday so the children could all have this marvellous opportunity to see the home of our democracy. On Thursday, our Year 1 children set off on a journey to Windsor Castle to find out about and explore a real castle, consolidating their knowledge of castles that they have been building over their topic so far. This is a regular trip and always one of the highlights for year 1 and this year was no exception.

  • Statement from the Partnership of Sutton Secondary Schools 20Th January 2014
Statement from the Partnership of Sutton Secondary Schools 20th January 2014 Secondary place planning and the need for a new secondary school in Sutton The Partnership of Sutton Secondary Schools notes that a phased increase in school places is required to meet local needs and that Sutton has been allocated £35m for school expansion between 2015 and 2017. The Partnership recognises that to help to meet the demand for school places in Sutton, a new secondary school will be required to open in September 2017, in addition to expansion at existing schools for 2015 and 2016. The Partnership notes that a new school would have to be a sponsored academy or free school, and that currently the only approved sponsor in the Partnership is Greenshaw. The Partnership would want any new school to be developed within the Partnership and believes that urgent action is required to ensure the school is open on time. All schools in the Partnership support Greenshaw High School Educational Trust as the sponsor of the new secondary school in Sutton, working within and with the support of the Partnership and with the Local Authority.
