Welcome to PULSE25, a 25th Year Celebration Party to benefit PULSE.
PULSE cultivates a community of young servant leaders to transform Pittsburgh. We invite talented university graduates to partner with Pittsburgh nonprofits for a year of service and leadership.
Over the last 25 years, PULSE has invited about 350 young adults to partner with over 150 Pittsburgh nonprofits, contributing some 500,000 hours of service to the city and its residents. This work has made a lasting impact in the lives of fellows, nonprofits, and Pittsburgh’s neighborhoods.

Core Purpose:
PULSE cultivates a community of young servant leaders to transform Pittsburgh.
We invite talented university graduates to partner with Pittsburgh nonprofits for a year of service and leadership.
PULSE’s work is about the “cultivation of community”. There are three distinct and intersecting spheres of our work where we hope to make an impact:
PEOPLE (Fellows and Alumni) PARTNERS (Nonprofit Partners) PLACE (Neighborhoods and Residents)
People, partners, and place. This is the work of PULSE.
We want young adults to fall in love with a place and the people of that place. We hope that this initial love will turn into a long term commitment of investing in a Pittsburgh neighborhood.
In PULSE and at PULSE25, we want to create both a big table and small gatherings. The big table, like the one in this room, is an opportunity to meet new people, to stretch yourself and your perspective, to be challenged, and to grow. Small gatherings, like the ones in this room around PEOPLE (Alumni), PARTNERS (Nonprofits), and PLACE (Neighborhoods), are opportunities to connect with old friends, to experience a sense of safety, and to be known.
