2 SIR RODEN & LADY CUTLER FOUNDATION | ANNUAL REPORT 2018 3 SIR RODEN & LADY CUTLER FOUNDATION | ANNUAL REPORT 2018 FOREWARD Patron Alan Jones AO

I write as a proud patron of the Sir Roden and Lady Cutler Foundation Inc. This Foundation has done, for many years, remarkable and unique work via a ‘Pick Me Up’ service which began back in 1998 and has grown from humble beginnings of 400 trips a year to now over 11,500! These are people who, without the Foundation, would be virtually abandoned. They are elderly people who have no way of getting to a doctor’s appointment. They are veterans of several theatres of war who have no one to get them to essential services that they regularly seek.

The ‘Pick Me Up’ service provides extraordinary and unprecedented support for such worthy yet needy people in our community.

The mission of the Foundation is very straightforward: ‘To provide needy Australians and their carers with the transport and financial support necessary to maintain and enhance their quality of life’. But what impresses me about the work of the Foundation is the nature of the work and the way it is carried out.

The key is to treat these people with respect, patience, courtesy and dignity at a time in their life when all those qualities are often denied them. The Foundation also seeks to secure the independence of such people, to enable them to remain within their home and local community but benefit from services that local networks can bring.

On behalf of the Foundations Committee a sincere and heartfelt thank you for your support. Without you we would not be able to provide such a fantastic FREE service and help so many people improve their overall quality of life.

With personal best wishes Alan Jones AO, Patron

The Foundation is proud to announce that it has received $91,000 in grants from the 2018 Club Grants Program.

These Grants provide very important revenue streams for the Foundation and allows us to remain sustainable & continue to maintain our current Pick Me Up service as well as cater for some growth.

The Foundation would like to thank the following Clubs for their fantastic support. Without them the Foundation would not be able to operate and continue as we do today.

Government, Council & Organisation Grants

The Foundation applies yearly for Grants to various Government bodies councils & independent organisations throughout Sydney & the Inner West areas.

Unfortunately, we are not as successful as with our Club Grant applications but nevertheless we do however appreciate the work of local Government members throughout our regions and in particular Mr John Sidoti State Member of Drummoyne, a supporter of the Foundation for many years as well as the member for Heffron Mr Ron Hoenig who through their electorate and the CBP Grant program donated $25,000 each.

We would also like the thank the support of the Woollahra & City of Canada Bay Councils for both their financial and pro bono assistance during the year.
