PRESS RELEASE N.6 21St September 2019 ANDREAS MIKKELSEN PRESS RELEASE n.6 21st September 2019 ANDREAS MIKKELSEN AND CRAIG BREEN AT RALLYLEGEND 2019 WITH WORLD RALLY CARS Republic of San Marino. The already abundant list of stars at Rallylegend is getting longer and richer. Andreas Mikkelsen, Norwegian, official driver of the Hyundai Motorsport team in the World Rally Championship, makes his debut in the event race of San Marino Republic, scheduled from 10 to 13 October, and will have at his side Anders Jaeger, on a Hyundai i20 WRC by HMI Italian Rally Team. Mikkelsen, third in the recent Turkish rally and currently fourth in the WRC drivers' standings, will be at the start in the WRC2 category at Rallylegend, a useful training in view of the upcoming World Championship races, decisive also for the Manufacturers' title in which Hyundai is leader today. For the Irish Craig Breen, on the other hand, it is a return to Rallylegend, after the victory among the WRCs last year, conquered also by the unique atmosphere and the passion that reigns in San Marino. He chose to be there for sure with a World Rally Car – still to choose - with which he will delight the spectators in the Legend Stars category, the "all-show" category. Breen, official driver of the Citroen team in the world championship until last year, this year had a great chance at the Finland rally, with the official Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC, ended with a good final placing and with a valid help to the team. Two more great world-class champions, therefore, at the start of Rallylegend, in addition to the already announced and confirmed presence of Thierry Neuville with the official Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC. Mikkelsen will compete in all rounds of the 2018 championship in a Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC, co- driven by fellow Norwegian Anders Jæger. Hyundai Motorsport’s existing crews of Thierry Neuville/Nicolas Gilsoul, Dani Sordo/Marc Martí and Hayden Paddon/Seb Marshall all remain under contract for the 2018 season. The team finished as runners-up in 2018, for the third time in a row, having taken the title fight down to the wire. In one of the closest, most hotly contested seasons in recent years, a three-way battle was only concluded at the season finale in Australia. Running a revised crew line-up and with an extended calendar of 14 rounds in 2019, Hyundai Motorsport will aim to revisit the competitive form that helped it score three victories and 11 podium finishes last season. With WRC’s regulations remaining stable, the team has been able to evolve the technical foundations of its rally winning Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC. Part two of the World Champions’ story: Volkswagen has won the manufacturers’ title in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) with an outstanding one-two victory at the Rally Spain. Their ninth podium in eleven races triggered wild celebrations. The Frenchmen can no longer be caught at the top of the overall standings in the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). Before I underline the team’s hopes and expectations for this event, I wish to acknowledge all the hard work that’s gone into putting on this rally in such a short amount of time. The efforts of AKK Sports and all the volunteers, particularly in the context of COVID-19, has really impressed me so a big thank you to them. It’s fair to say we showed our limits on Rallye Monte-Carlo and found ourselves licking our wounds and trying to get ahead. Unfortunately, it didn’t work there and after making some changes to our approach we start the second round of the season hoping it will be much better than the first. Having wished a fond farewell to Carlos del Barrio after Monte as he prepared for the next chapter of his career, we are pleased to welcome back Craig and Paul for the start of their half-season campaign in a Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC. We know very well their ability and determination as they try to make a strong start to their season. As well as our regular World Rally Car drivers, we are giving a big chance to a really promising youngster, Oliver Solberg.

    Rally Turkey – Day Three Report Hyundai Motorsport has registered a double podium in Rally Turkey, the fifth round of the 2020 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) Thierry Neuville finished in second place and took the maximum five Power Stage points, ahead of Sébastien Loeb, who claimed third overall - his first podium since Chile 2019. Ott Tänak brought his difficult Rally Turkey to a more positive conclusion with four Power Stage points, as the team maintains second in the manufacturers’ championship. ASPARAN, TURKEY, Sep. 20, 2020 — Hyundai Motorsport has concluded Rally Turkey with a double podium finish on a dramatic final day in which both Thierry Neuville and Sébastien Loeb picked up punctures on the opening stage. With the longest test of the entire event - the 38.15km Çetibeli - run twice on Sunday morning, in addition to the shorter 6.28km Marmaris test, it was never going to be a straight-forward finish to the rally. However, issues for the crews during the opening run were not a welcome addition to the script. Overnight leaders Neuville and co-driver Nicolas Gilsoul saw their 33-second advantage eradicated as they were forced to stop to change a tyre mid-stage. Loeb and Daniel Elena, too, were struck by tyre misfortune as they nursed their Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC through the final kilometres with a puncture, losing over a minute of time. They weren’t the only crews to experience trouble in the first run through Çetibeli, which transformed the overall classification. On the first pass through Marmaris, Neuville took an emphatic stage win to reclaim second overall, behind new rally leader Elfyn Evans, with Loeb in fourth overall - less than five seconds from the podium.

    MEDIA INFORMATION 2020 FIA World Rally Championship Round 4: Rally Estonia MICHELIN ready for action as the 2020 WRC campaign resumes with a new-look final run-in After an interruption of practically five months since March’s Rally Mexico which was itself shortened slightly as the Covid-19 pandemic took a grip, the 2020 FIA World Rally Championship fires back up this weekend in Estonia. Included for the first time as part of the WRC calendar, Rally Estonia did not feature on the initial 2020 schedule. However, tightening travel restrictions have led the series’ organisers to focus on European venues and postpone the longer-haul fixtures until next season. After the year’s wintry openers, namely Rallye Monte-Carlo and Rally Sweden, Mexico was the first of the championship’s initially-planned gravel events, which means Rally Estonia will be the second loose-surface round of the campaign. Having emerged as the Baltic States’ biggest motorsport event since it was first organised in 2010, the rally is reputed above all for its fast stages and jumps, yet it also includes a number of technical forest roads that range from narrow to wide. The defending world champion Ott Tänak will obviously be keen to post a top performance on home soil in his Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC which is equipped with Michelin tyres, as are all the cars of the sport’s stars who are eager to get behind the wheel in anger for the first time since mid-March. For sanitary reasons, Rally Estonia will run to a compact format, with the weekend’s 17 stages (11 on Saturday, September 5, plus six on Sunday) totalling just 232.64 kilometres.

Die Hyundai Motorsport GmbH bestätigt den französischen Rallye-Profi Bryan Bouffier als Testfahrer für das Jahr 2013. Damit steht nach der Bekanntgabe des Finnen Juho Hänninen der zweite Testfahrer für das Entwicklungsprogramm des Hyundai i20 WRC fest. Bryan Bouffier errang 2010 den Titel des französischen Rallyemeisters und gewann bereits drei Mal die polnische Rallye-Meisterschaft. Im Jahr 2011 siegte er in der IRC-Serie bei der legendären Rallye Monte Carlo und dominierte in jüngerer Zeit die Rallye-Europameisterschaft, Tour de Corse.     MEDIA INFORMATION FIA World Rally Championship 2016 Rally Sweden – 2nd race MICHELIN X-Ice North 3 : a special tyre for the Nordic event of the season Normally, Rally Sweden is the only round of the FIA World Rally Championship to take place in totally wintry conditions. It is generally also the event which poses the fewest problems in terms of tyre choice. This year, however, the MICHELIN X-Ice North 3 and its 384 studs will need to deliver in conditions that are far from traditional. After the wide variety of stages featured on last month’s Rallye Monte-Carlo, the Swedish fixture tends to offer a more uniform terrain, with iced-over gravel tracks and, very often, snowy lanes lined by snow walls on which the drivers tend to lean when cornering. This time round, abnormally mild weather (zero degrees to almost 10°C in places) and heavy rain over the past week or so have made a certain number of the initially-planned stages impracticable. The organisers have consequently been compelled to shorten their event which will now feature just 13 stages instead of 21, a decision that has slashed the total competitive distance from a little more than 300km to 241km, and the overall route length from 1,500km to 1,396km. This evening’s originally-scheduled super-special at Karlstad’s hippodrome was the first victim of this choice, which means that competitive action will finally begin with SS2 – Torsby, a little longer than 16km - at 8:51am Friday. Friday’s SS5 and SS6, Saturday’s SS11, SS13 and SS15 and Sunday’s SS18 and SS19 have all been chopped, too.
