With the pair of victories, the RailRiders are June 3 @ Buffalo - Game 1 L 4-2 (7) a season-high 11 games over .500. @ Buffalo - Game 2 W 9-2 (7) June 4 @ Buffalo L 5-4 The RailRiders took game one of the doubleheader thanks to a five-run eruption in the bottom of the second. Mike Tauchman led off the June 5 @ Buffalo - Game 1 W 3-0 (7) inning with a single, and scored on a Logan Morrison double two batters later. Syracuse starter Chris Mazza walked Brad Miller and Erik @ Buffalo - Game 2 W 4-0 (7) Kratz later in the frame to load the bases, and Mike Ford promptly un-loaded them with a grand slam to cap the frame. In the bottom of the June 6 @ Buffalo L 3-2 sixth, Ryan McBroom smacked a two-run home run down the left field line to add two insurance runs for the RailRiders who took a 7-4 lead. June 7 vs. Syracuse L 3-1 June 8 vs. Syracuse W 3-1 In the second game of the twin bill the RailRiders played as los Vejigantes de Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for the first time, as part of the team’s June 9 vs. Syracuse - Game 1 W 7-5 (7) participation in the Copa de la Diversion. Donning special jerseys and caps, the club erupted offensively in the bottom of the first, sending vs. Syracuse - Game 2 W 14-3 (7) 12 batters to the plate and scoring seven runs, highlighted by a three-run home run by Morrison. SWB knocked Syracuse starter Casey Coleman out of the box after only one out in the frame. Instead, RHP Domingo German suffered an injury over the weekend for the Yankees and Adams has had his option June 26 vs. Buffalo 7:05 PM transferred to Double-A Trenton in order to be closer to New York the next time German’s spot opens up in the rotation. Due to June 27 vs. Buffalo - Game 1 5:05 PM the day off Monday, the entire rotation can slide up a day without anyone pitching on short rest, therefore RHP Drew Hutchison, vs. Buffalo - Game 2 TBA RHP Randall Delgado and RHP Brody Koerner are slated to take on the Tides. June 28 @ Lehigh Valley 7:05 PM RAILREHABBERS: With six games over a span of a week-plus for SWB, INF Didi Gregorius joined OF Aaron Hicks on the list 2019 vs. norfolk of Yankees rehabbers for the RailRiders this season. He went 1-for-21 in the first five games in which he has played before going 2-for-4 in the last game he suited up. It has been reported by Tom Verducci on MLB Network that both OF Giancarlo Stanton and overall head-to-head: 0-0 OF Aaron Judge will be in the lineup for the RailRiders at some point this weekend down at Durham Bulls Atheltic Park. A year ago, SWB had 10 different Yankees play games with them: Greg Bird (INF), A.J. THINGS COME TO AN END: The RailRiders hit the weekend with a series against the Mets wrapping up a gauntlet stretch of games, finishing 15-7 in 22 games over 20 days. The team went from being 1.5 games out of first place when the stretch began, to holding a 5.5-game lead over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs following the past weekend. Early in the season, the railriders at a glance Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders had their schedule broken up by a handful of postponements and suspensions due to weather 2019 regular season: 36-25 -- seven over the first five weeks of the season.
