In difficult times we have to grit our teeth until the bad moment is over. We had a sensational WBC virtual Convention and Lic. Mauricio Sulaiman Saldivar has been confirmed as WBC President for the next 4-year term. A guarantee for the entire global boxing movement, indeed. Before the outbreak of covid-19, the Committee had promoted several championships in only two months, with eighteen more title bouts already regularly sanctioned and scheduled to happen between March, April and May. The virus continues biking many parts of the world and we cannot risk the health of our boxers. We’ll need to make it until the enemy surrenders. After the lockdown (still in place in several countries) , we have managed to come back with a good activity. We have crowned the new WBC International 160Lbs champion, Christian Uruzquieta made a successful title defence and in Nicaragua we have crowned the new WBC International 118Lbs Silver champion. Alì Akhmedov relinquished the WBC International Silver belt to fight for the now vacant regular title. Tom Loeffler will stage this vacant championship (hopefully next Ocober in California).
