Yellowhead Trail - 149 Street Freeway Profile Number: 17-66-2307 Conversion

Scope: ● Design and construction of road network changes required for removal of signals or direct access to Yellowhead Trail at 149 Street, 143 Street and 142 Street. ● Includes construction of one-way service roads parallel to Yellowhead Trail to optimize access to surrounding business area. ● Improvements to parallel off-corridor routes, including 128 Avenue (155 Street to St. ​ Albert Trail), 124 Avenue (149 Street to 142 Street), and 123 Avenue (156 Street to 142 Street), intersection improvements for truck accommodation, rehabilitation, new ​ paint lines, and new sidewalks.

Budget: ● $275M (subject to refinement based on design work)

Progress Update: ● Design is underway for improvements to 124 Avenue (142 Street to 149 Street) and 128 Avenue (156 Street to St. Albert Trail). ● Further design work for the area will be initiated in late 2018. ● Land acquisition for the project is in the early stages.

Engagement: ● Engagement with property owners along 124 Avenue and 128 Avenue is currently underway. Further engagement related to these roadways will be undertaken in late spring and early summer 2018.

Schedule: ● Planning: Complete ● Design: 2018 - 2020 ● Construction: 2019 - 2023

Renewal Integration: ● In addition to improving routes paralleling Yellowhead Trail to better accommodate redirected traffic resulting from the changes at 149 Street and 142 Street, parallel roads (128 Avenue, 124 Avenue, and 123 Avenue) will be rehabilitated or reconstructed to address road condition requirements.

Yellowhead Trail 127 Street Profile Number: 22-66-2314

Scope: ● Concept planning, design and construction of an interchange to replace the at-grade signalized intersection at 127 Street, including removal of the at grade intersection at 124 Street, improvements of the adjacent roadway network for alternate access and land acquisition

Budget: ● $340M (subject to refinement based on planning & design work)

Progress Update: ● Concept planning for the interchange at 127 Street is anticipated to begin in late 2018. Planning for this interchange will be completed together with planning for the interchange at 121 Street. ● Land acquisition in this area will start upon completion of the concept planning study for the interchange.

Engagement: ● An extensive engagement and communications plan will be developed and implemented upon commencement of the concept planning study for the interchange, to be completed jointly with the interchange at 121 Street.

Schedule: ● Planning: 2018 - 2020 ● Design: 2020 - 2022 ● Construction: 2023 - 2026

Renewal Integration: ● Rehabilitation needs in this area will be reviewed and incorporated as required as work in this area is further defined.

Yellowhead Trail 121 Street Interchange Profile Number: 23-66-2317

Scope: ● Concept planning, design and construction of an interchange to replace the at grade intersection at 121 Street, including removal of the at grade intersection at 107 Street, improvements of the adjacent roadway network for alternate access as necessary and land acquisition. Access to CN rail yard to be considered.

Budget: ● $278M (subject to refinement based on planning & design work)

Progress Update: ● Concept planning for the interchange at 121 Street is anticipated to begin in late 2018. Planning for this interchange will be completed together with planning for the interchange at 127 Street. ● Land acquisition in this area will be started upon completion of the concept planning study for the interchange.

Engagement: ● An extensive engagement and communications plan will be developed and implemented upon commencement of the concept planning study for the interchange, to be completed jointly with the interchange at 127 Street.

Yellowhead Trail - 89 Street and 66 Street Profile Number: 15-66-2224 Improvements

Scope: ● 89 Street Area: ○ Removal of signal at 89 Street / Yellowhead Trail intersection. ○ Design and construction to improve Delton industrial network roads to better accommodate goods movement vehicles and alternate access / egress. ○ Upgrades to the north service road (125A Avenue) between 97 Street and 82 Street, including widening, sidewalk construction. ● 66 Street Area: ○ Planning and design for removal of signal at 66 Street / Yellowhead Trail, and provision of alternative access to surrounding area. ○ Removal of direct access (alleys, driveways) ○ Design and construction of a new collector road (125 Avenue) connecting westbound Yellowhead Trail from 61 Street to 66 Street and Fort Road.

Budget: ● $47M (subject to refinement based on design work)

Progress Update: ● 89 Street Area: ○ Design work has started for the 89 Street area, including service road adjustments, intersection improvements to accommodate large vehicles, 89 Street signal removal, and other roadway rehabilitation requirements. ● 66 Street Area: ○ A concept planning study for the 66 Street area will begin in 2018, including public engagement and the exploration of feasible options for the removal of the signal at 66 Street / Yellowhead Trail. The study will build upon recommendations from previous planning (i.e. 66 Street access management concept plan). ○ Land acquisition is in the early stages and will advance upon completion of the planning study.

Engagement: ● 89 Street Area: ○ Engagement is an important component required to refine design plans for the area. Targeted workshops are planned for May 2018 for business operators, property owners, and other directly impacted stakeholders in the area. Further engagement opportunities on a broader scale will be held later this year. ○ Land acquisition for this area is underway. ● 66 Street Area: ○ Concept planning on the 66 Street intersection will begin in 2018. An important part of concept planning is public engagement, to ensure an understanding of area needs and possible impacts of roadway changes. Publicfeedback will help inform the concept plan and ongoing design considerations.

Renewal Integration: ● 89 Street Area: ○ Rehabilitation of the Yellowhead Trail interchange ramps (off/on ramps in both the eastbound and westbound directions) at 82 Street, 97 Street and Fort Road will be completed. ○ Rehabilitation of eastbound Yellowhead Trail from 82 Street to 68 Street will be completed. ● 66 Street Area: ○ Rehabilitation needs in this area will be reviewed and incorporated as required as work in this area is further defined.

Fort Road (Yellowhead Trail - 66 Street) 6 Lane Profile Number: 16-66-2214 Widening

Scope: ● Design and construction for the widening of Fort Road to 6 lanes from Yellowhead Trail to 66 Street. ● Twinning the CN rail mainline underpass north of Yellowhead Trail. ● Improvements for vertical clearance under the existing CN Rail bridge (lower Fort Road). ● Local roadway network improvements. ● Construction of a new collector road (125 Avenue) from Fort Road to 66 Street. ● Construction of a new shared-use path and sidewalk along Fort Road from Yellowhead Trail to 66 Street and a shared use path along the new 125 Avenue roadway.

Budget: ● $36M (subject to refinement based on design work)

Progress Update: ● Design for the widening of Fort Road from Yellowhead Trail to 66 Street is expected to begin in mid to late 2018. The design will include the expansion of the CN Rail bridge north of Yellowhead Trail and increased vertical clearance under the existing bridge. ● Land acquisition for the project is underway.

Engagement: ● An engagement and communications plan will be developed and implemented when the next stage of design for this area begins in mid to late 2018.

Schedule: ● Planning: Complete ● Design: 2018 - 2020 ● Construction: 2021 - 2022

Renewal Integration: ● Rehabilitation of the Fort Road / Yellowhead Trail interchange on and off ramps will be completed.

Yellowhead Trail (50 Street - River) 6 Lane Profile Number: 17-66-2216 Widening

Scope: ● Design and construction of the widening of Yellowhead Trail to 6 lanes from west of 50th Street to the North River bridges. Widening to occur generally into the median.

Budget: ● $35M (subject to refinement based on design work)

Progress Update: ● Design for the widening of Yellowhead Trail east of 66 Street to will begin in mid to late 2018.

Engagement: ● An engagement and communications plan will be developed and implemented when the next stage of design for this area begins.

Schedule: ● Planning: Complete ● Design: 2018 - 2019 ● Construction: 2020 - 2021

Renewal Integration: ● Rehabilitaton of the Yellowhead Trail interchange ramps (off/on ramps in both the eastbound and westbound directions) at 50 Street and Victoria Trail will be completed.
