He puts together a bat-like costume and sets off to battle crime on Two Face's terms. While Batman destroys Two Face's criminal empire, Annie, a prostitute who works at Selina Kyle's brothel, accompanies a strange gentleman. The man starts laughing hysterically Batman Jekyll and Hyde kills Annie, who is revealed to be his fourth victim. Commissioner Gordon asks Bruce Wayne for help, the serial killer who calls himself the Joker is murdering women and mutilating them to look like they are smiling.

Especially when one considers the era in which these figures were first created by the Walt Disney Studio, in the 1920s and 1930s, why are they portrayed without full clothing? The obvious answer, of course, is that they are animals, and animals do not wear clothes. But these are no ordinary animals: in most cases, they do wear clothing - some clothing, at least - and they walk on two legs, talk in a more or less intelligible fashion, and display a number of other anthropomorphic traits. If they are essentially animals, why do they wear clothing at all? On the other hand, if these characters are more human than animal, as suggested by other behavioral traits - they walk, talk, work, read, and so on - why are they not more often fully clothed? To answer these questions I undertook three major research strategies used to gather evidence: interpretive textual analysis of 321 cartoons; secondary analysis of interviews conducted with the animators who created the Disney characters; and historical and archival research on the Disney Company and on the times and context in which it functioned.

A pesar de formar parte, junto con el ratón y el pato más famosos del mundo, del triunvirato de Disney, de protagonizar decenas de cortometrajes, de ser el único en tener dos largometrajes en solitario en su haber, Goofy se ha convertido en el comparsa de sus amigos. En la mayoría de casos, cuando alguien habla de Goofy, es porque antes ha hablado de Mickey o de Disney en general, e, incluso, en el último de estos casos, muchas veces, Goofy queda agrupado bajo la denominación de «la pandilla de Mickey». By combining media and cultural research, this study tried to find out if movies acknowledge the entrapping reality cultural theorists point out. Furthermore, a detailed content analysis was supposed to offer cinematic indicators how this exceptional automotive love affair might end. The analysis of Falling Down (1993), Duets (2000), and Collateral (2004) revealed cultural phenomena such as road rage, America’s carscape causing sameness and dislocation, as well as isolation, passivity, and akinesia. The protagonists appear to realize the car’s physical and psychological impact on their life and they start to abandon the entrapping vehicle – an inspiring observation given America’s increasing efforts in terms of public and alternative transportation.
