INTRODUCTION

Walk with a scholar (WWS) is a dream project of Department of Higher Education, to excel meritorious students in learning through specialized mentoring programs of the undergraduate programs in Arts, science and commerce and to provide guidance to frame their academic future.

WWS IN MES KALLADI COLLEGE

WWS Programme of MES Kalladi College Mannarkkad is functioning successfully since the last two years. The total number of Mentees in the College is 55 from two different batches and they have been working under the tenMentors from different Department of the college.

Selection of the Students

We are conducting proper interview for selecting WWS students from each department. The interview would be managed by Internal Mentors of the college. It mainly focused on students’ academic performance, personality, attitude and the ability of extracurricular activities.

Internal Mentoring Programme

The two batches of WWS have been managed by ten internal mentors. They are properly guiding mentees based on the guidelines of WWS.

External Mentoring

We invited fifteen external mentors from the various institutions of and conducted thirty hours mentoring. It was integrated with variety of subjects that mainly focussed on competitive examinations and the field of Higher Education. The classes of external mentoring included

2 subjects like personality development, competition sense, civil service exam orientation, Academic writings.Etc.

Motivational Visit

With the Guidelines and Financial Support of WWS- Higher Education New initiative Program in MES Kalladi College, Mannarkkad conducted the Motivational visit to Hyderabad from 21 – 27th February 2016.Detailed Report of Motivational Visit attached herewith.
