There are plenty of things to discover, and new wonders to behold (which we will be detailing more in this issue). But Pandora is just the latest in a long list of new lands and worlds that Disney has created over the years; both in the parks and on the big screen. And with the new worlds of Marvel and Star Wars opening up before us, we are poised to head out on countless adventures that will take is to lands, worlds, and yes, even galaxies, far far away. And that has always been a vital part of the imagination process…to conceptualize places and worlds that exist only in our minds. Storytellers have weaved tales of new and exotic lands for as long as pen has been put to paper. But the ability to actually take us to these new worlds…literally…had to wait for the development of the necessary technology to be invented. But technology is only secondary to the most important component of all, imagination. For that we can thank the brilliant minds of the people who will be bringing these fantastic visions to life. Disney has always been about transporting us to new worlds, and now, with the opening of Pandora, the journeys that the Imagineers at Disney will be taking us on will defy our imaginations in ways that we could never have dreamed of. Last year, in my Drawing 2 class, we were asked to make a collage out of a magazine. Since Disney is such a big part of my life, I knew what magazine I was going to choose. As much as it pained me to do so, I decided to use Celebrations as my magazine of choice, cutting it up to rearrange the images. We used the collages as reference to create a colored pencil drawing. I thought you might want to see the final product. You may recognize the images from issue #24. I was able to finish the project on time, despite my teacher’s concerns. Some areas I had to rush through, especially the briar patch area, but hopefully I’ll find time to go back and add more detail later. Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful magazine! My family and I are a bunch of self- confessed “foodies,” and we have a special soft spot for des- serts! We love the frozen ice you can get in Japan and were thrilled to see you mention it in your article. We thought we would share on of our favorites with you, the Carrot Cake Cupcake. I believe you can get these throughout most of the parks, but our favorite place to get them is at Sunshine Seasons in the Land Pavilion. Of course they’re Hidden Mickeys – They’re Everywhere! extra tasty there :) though our real reason is because we In your magazine you often print pictures in the front of can take them outside with us to Future World
