Each section contains specific information and the necessary data about the horses. Tlleirs was a brief encounter, lasting less than three years, much of which was spent apart. Nevertheless, out of this intensive. conjunction. spurted flames, somewhat lurid, but rendered invisible by the exaggerated reticences of that era. Paul courted Elizab:eth, took her on a trip· to Europle, married her, and then died, leaving her their daughter. Mrs. Akers was widely eommiserated on the premature loss of her popular, talented husband and she said nothing at the time to undermine the public estimate of Paul as an incandescent child of nature, guileless and gracious and good.
