Overnight Adelaide Accommodation. DAY 3 Cruise to Kangaroo Island Enjoy a leisurely start to your day before driving along the South Australia coast via McLaren Vale to Cape Jervis.

At Cape Jervis load your car on board your cruise to Kangaroo Island and enjoy the 45 minute journey to this nature lovers’ paradise.

Choose from a variety of accommodation options and locations on Kangaroo Island. Direct driving 107km (1.5 hours).

Cruise to Kangaroo Island, Overnight Kangaroo Island Accommodation. DAY 4 Explore Kangaroo Island Spend the day exploring Kangaroo Island at your own leisure. The island is a haven of wildlife and natural beauty. On the western part of the island you can visit Flinders Chase National Park home of the Remarkable Rocks, one the islands signature landmarks which took 500 million years of rain, wind and waves to create. Admiral’s Arch, the lighthouses at Cape Borda and Cape du Couedic and multiple walking and hiking trails also make up Flinders Chase National Park.

In the South, you can visit Seal Bay Conservation Park, home of the third largest Australian sea lion colony in Australia. You can take a guided tour of the beach to see these beautiful animals in their natural habitat.

Kangaroo Island is also famous for its honey and Ligurian honey bees. The island is home to the world’s only pure bred and disease free population of this type of bee. There are many honey farms that are open to the public to visit.

Kangaroo Island is a food and wine lover’s dream destination. The island is home to 30 wine growers and 12 wineries. The island is famous for being from where some of the best Southern Rock Lobster is sourced. It also has South Australia’s only eucalyptus oil distillery with oil that is distilled from the endemic Kangaroo Island narrow leaf mallee, The Emu Ridge Distillery.

Maybe visit Kangaroo Island Spirits, South Australia’s only boutique distillery which specialises in handcrafted Premium Australian Spirits. Here, spirits are produced with a philosophy of “Slow Spirits”; a term used to describe spirits made in a similar vein to “slow food”, i.e using high-quality local and seasonal ingredients made using traditional processes and recipes. Kangaroo Island Spirits award winning local Gin, Vodka and Liqueurs.

You can also visit Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park, located in the centre of the island, where you can cuddle a koala, interact with snakes, crocodiles and reptiles or even hand feed kangaroos and wallabies! The wildlife park is home to over 150 species of native Australian wildlife and over 600 animals!

Emu Bay Lavender Farm is located about 20 kms from Kingscote and has 10 different varieties of lavender which is produced and distilled on the property. You can purchase lavender products or enjoy an afternoon tea of handmade lavender scones with a cup of tea or coffee while enjoying your surroundings.

Cruise to Cape Jervis, Overnight Barossa Valley Accommodation. DAY 6 Explore the Barossa Valley Spend the day visiting some of the best cellar doors in Australia or alternatively visit Maggie Beer’s Farm shop, the Whispering Wall or even take a hot air balloon over the verdant and pristine rolling landscape of the region.

The Whispering Wall in Williamstown in the Barossa Valley is a unique phenomenon allowing you to “throw” your voice over 100 metres. The unintentional phenomena is created due to the wall’s curved shape which leads to voices being carried from one side of its arch to the other, even when whispered, hence its name.

For visitors looking to take in the gourmet side of South Australia, a visit to Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop is a must. Maggie Beer is a renowned figure on the Australian food scene and the Farm Shop has been enthralling visitors since the 1970’s. The shop is a celebration of the diversity of produce of the region and visitors can try an array of jams, oils, pates and ice creams or even enjoy a meal at the restaurant on the lovely lakeside property. Guests can even enjoy cooking demonstrations or a walk around the farm itself and take in the birdlife of the area such as peacocks, quails and pheasants.

DAY 7 Barossa Valley to the Flinders Ranges Today, journey north to the beautiful Flinders Ranges, the largest mountain range in South Australia. The most prominent feature of the Range is Wilpena Pound, a large sickle shaped amphitheatre covering 80 square kilometres and containing the Ranges’ highest peak, St. Mary Peak. The Flinders Ranges are teeming with endemic flora and fauna adapted to the semi- arid environment such as sugar gum, cypress-pine, black oak, red kangaroos, western grey kangaroos, wallaroos, and yellow footed rock wallabies as well as a large number of bird species such as parrots, galahs and wedge tailed eagles. Direct driving 405km (4.75 hours) .

Overnight Flinders Ranges Accommodation. DAY 8 Explore the Flinders Ranges Spend the day exploring the fascinating Flinders Ranges. Maybe take a scenic flight over Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre, the largest lake in Australia which rarely fills with water. When empty, the lake is a giant salt pan with the white crystals reflecting the sunlight.

You can even take guided tours of the region to get a better understanding of the area and its history with experienced and knowledgeable guides.

Alternatively, explore the region on your own. There are many walking trails, hiking trails and gorges that you can visit. Please note that if you wish to visit certain scenic spots such as Aroona Valley or Arkaroola, you will need a 4WD vehicle. Please ask your specialist consultant when planning your holiday.

Overnight Flinders Ranges Accommodation. DAY 9 Flinders Ranges to Whyalla Say goodbye to the Flinders Ranges today and travel south through the towns of Hawker and Quorn to Whyalla. Quorn is a historic township most famous for the Pichi Richi Railway which is a narrow gauge railway line that connects it to and was initially opened in 1879. The township gained fame and importance in the early 1900’s as it became the crossroads of any north-south or east-west travel in Australia, so anyone travelling in either of those directions would have to pass through Quorn. As a result, many fine building were built in the town which are still Heritage Listed.

There is a visitor information centre where you can get a map for a self-guided walking tour of the town based around the historic buildings, railways yards and other historic locations.

Continue your journey south to the seaside town of Whyalla, the third most populous town in South Australia. Famous for its annual migration of Giant Australian Cuttlefish, the town has become a hotspot for snorkelers and divers and between the months of May and August the animals can be seen in water and shallow as 1 metre!

There are also several museums and public tours that showcase the history of Whyalla. You can also view the HMAS Whyalla, a retired World War II era corvette that was the first ship built in Whyalla during the war. Direct driving 246km (3 hours) .

Overnight Whyalla Accommodation. DAY 10 Whyalla to Port Lincoln Depart Whyalla and travel south along the pristine Spencer Gulf and into the .

Stop at the picturesque seaside towns of Port Neill and Tumby Bay on your journey to the “Seafood Capital of Australia”, Port Lincoln. Direct driving 268km (2.75 hours) .

Overnight Port Lincoln Accommodation. DAY 11 Explore Port Lincoln The Eyre Peninsula is gifted with something unique, powerful and highly sought after: a coastal region that is isolated, rugged, raw and with seafood to die for. Port Lincoln, situated on the shore of Boston Bay is the largest city in the West Coast region and is famous for its seafood industry, especially for its Southern Bluefin Tuna fishing industry.

The city is home to Australia’s largest commercial fishing fleet and produces a cornucopia of seafood including Southern Rock Lobster, abalone, clams, Southern Bluefin Tuna, mussels, yabbies, marron, oysters, Kingfish, crabs and prawns as well as a variety of other deep sea marine life.

Port Lincoln is truly a seafood lovers’ dream destination!

Overnight Port Lincoln Accommodation. DAY 12 Port Lincoln to Port Pirie Travel back north up and around the Spencer Gulf to Port Pirie.

Port Pirie is the sixth most populous town in South Australia with a rich industrial history and home to the world’s largest lead smelter.

Port Pirie is located on the Pirie River, a tidal saltwater inlet from the Spencer Gulf. The town is home to many Heritage Listed sites including the Second World War Memorial Gates.

The town also has a lovely beach with a picturesque palm lined esplanade running alongside. Direct driving 435km (4.5 hours) .

Overnight Port Pirie Accommodation. DAY 13 Port Pirie to Adelaide Depart Port Pirie this morning and travel back to Adelaide for your flight home. Alternatively, why not spend some more time discovering South Australia. Simply ask your Specialist Consultant. Direct driving 224km (2.5 hours).

BROCHURE VALIDITY The information presented in our brochure is correct to the best of our knowledge, but is subject to change without notice. Changes can occur with respect to prices, itineraries, duration of holidays, service standards, tour content, airfares and schedules. This is out of our control. Please ensure you advise details of your requirements at the time of booking. GOODS AND SERVICES TAX (GST) The Australian GST does not apply to international travel. Any service fees, courier, cancellation and amendment fees are subject to GST. You will be charged GST where applicable. DEPOSIT A deposit is required to confirm your booking (varies depending on package booked). Receipt of deposit will be taken as an understanding by Destination International Holidays that the customer has checked their confirmed travel arrangements and has read and agreed to the terms and conditions. FINAL PAYMENT Payment in full must be made no less than 120 days before travel, unless required earlier by any supplier. PRICES All prices for our tours are advised in Australian Dollars ($AUD). They are based on airfares, schedules and tariffs at the time of printing. Destination International Holidays reserves the right to vary the cost of the tour, taxes and airline prices if necessary by reason of currency fluctuation, cost increase, or airfare increase. All prices are subject to confirmation from local tour operators. Once full payment has been received by Destination International no surcharges in respect to currency fluctuations will be applied. ITINERARY CHANGES Destination International Holidays reserves the right to amend the itinerary for reasons such as service requirements, road or weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Where a change is of a significant nature, it will be advised to our customers in writing. Destination International Holidays reserves the right to substitute hotels, lodges, inns and camps with properties of similar standard AMENDMENT FEES Any deviation to packages advertised or quotes will incur a fee of $150 per person.

Should you need to alter your confirmed reservations, there will be an automatic fee charged of $150 per amendment or transaction, plus any new arrangements made. Additionally, there may be cancellation fees levied by the tour operator or fees may be applicable where arrangements have been pre-purchased. In addition, we charge

• $50 per person for all airline seat reservations and baggage charges plus any airline fees. • $100 per person for all Tourist visa processing plus the cost for the visa fee. • $75 per person to reissue any travel documents lost in the mail. • $100 per person to process travel insurance claims and provide a statement for your insurance company. • $50 per person travel document printing fee CANCELLATIONS This office will charge a 15% cancellation fee on all refundable portions of a cancelled tour.
