Guest Speaker: Rabbi Selig Salkowitz Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7

Rabbi Selig Salkowitz who was the rabbi of Temple Avoda in Fair Lawn, NJ for thirty years will join us for Friday night services as well as for Shabbat morning, March 7, when he will join Rabbi Stevens in leading Torah study.

Following his rabbinate in Fair Lawn Rabbi Salkowitz embarked on a second rabbinic career as the first Interim Rabbi in the contemporary Reform moment. He specialized in providing one- year interim rabbinic leadership to congregations around the country that had lost a rabbi due to retirement, early death or other crisis. More than a dozen times Rabbi Salkowitz has stepped in to help a congregation heal and redefine itself as it began the transition towards a new rabbi. His compassion and sensitivity were crucial in his leadership role within the Central Conference of American Rabbis in the CCAR's work on sexual ethics and same-gender issues. We look forward to his presentation and teaching.

Services on March 6 will be preceded by a wine & cheese reception, starting at 5:30 p.m.
