Suzanne Newell has kindly sent me this amazing record of its history. I am sure you will enjoy reading about it as much as I have. The story runs from 1158 to the start of World War II. [editor] ROSS FARM stands on land which was owned in 1158, the fourth year of the reign of Henry II, by C Walter Giffard, Earl of Buckingham and Ermigardis his wife. Together they founded the Abbey of Notley in Buckinghamshire, a monastery of Augustinian friars, on whom they bestowed this land and other land within what was afterwards the Manor of Caversham. The Giffards's original charter, in Latin, which survives in the Bodleian Library in Oxford, was confirmed by King John.

This is to ensure that parish councils that meet later in the month don’t receive out of date news. GENERAL OCC REPORT SPECIAL THIRD READING BRIDGE MEETING FRIDAY 31st JANUARY 2020 At an informal joint meeting of parish councils from the southern part of Oxfordshire on 31st January 2020 to discuss the proposed Third Reading Bridge, the following resolution was overwhelmingly passed: a) In the context of the Climate Emergency a car-based solution to a car-based problem that would pour thousands of cars and HGVs into Oxfordshire is totally inappropriate and should a new bridge be built it should be restricted to public transport, cyclists and pedestrians; b) Notwithstanding the above, if a car-based solution is pursued, the proposed bridge and necessary mitigation measures (i.e. improvements to the Oxfordshire road network) are not considered as two separate projects, but as one single project in order that the benefits, disadvantages and costs of the complete scheme can be holistically assessed. I was asked to communicate this fact to the MP Bridge Summit meeting in March.     About our Governors Linda Hull - Headteacher I have been Head here at Kidmore End since 2013. My teaching career has been spent entirely in Oxfordshire, including being Deputy Head at Watlington Primary School and Headteacher at Radley Primary School, as well as working for the local authority doing advisory work. I live in Wallingford with my husband and two daughters. I am a member of Wallingford Rowing Club where I used to cox the Men’s Squad and in moments of spare time write contributions for a blog about travelling with children. Sarah Rodda – Chair of Governors - Representative LA Governor I am a mother of 2 former pupils of Kidmore End School who are now both at secondary school in Reading. I live in Caversham with my family. Professionally I work as a consultant in learning and development. I am passionate about education and ensuring that all children are able to achieve their potential and given the same opportunities. As a governor, I am keen to put something back into the school community to ensure that it continues to provide a good grounding for all our pupils. I am currently the chair of governors James Stickings – The Rector of Kidmore End Originally from Canada, I became Rector of Rotherfield Peppard and Kidmore End & Sonning Common in September 2016, having previously ministered in a parish in Oxford.
