Today, the Christmas Challenge is the UK’s largest online match funding campaign. The campaign is run by the Big Give online platform.

The campaign runs for one week in December. During this time, individuals are invited to give to the campaign online, and their donations are match funded by Big Give partners (trusts, foundations, corporations and philanthropists who support charities through the Big Give).

At CHIPS, we are thrilled that The AS and The Childhood Trust are match fund partners this year. How do I donate?

You must donate online, via our website page chipspeace.org/biggive and the process is straightforward and quick! There are two important points to note.

Donations must be made between midday on Tuesday 3 December and midday on Tuesday 10 December. Donations we receive outside of these times will not be eligible for match funding.

Donations must be made online, using a debit/credit card. The following card types are accepted: Mastercard / Visa / Maestro / Switch / Solo / Delta / American Express / CAF Bank Business cards displaying the MasterCard® logo. Is donating secure?

Yes. All online donations are processed by Checkout, a third-party payments processor. All donations made through Charity Checkout are securely encrypted and processed using SSL with a minimum 128-bit encryption and firewalls. It only stores card data on PCI DSS Level 1 compliant servers, the highest level of security. Furthermore, your connection to the Big Give is encrypted so it is perfectly safe to donates. 3D Secure may also be incorporated by your card issuer to complete the donation process. Can I give by cheque?

Unfortunately, The Big Give only accepts online donations and this is beyond our control. While you are always welcome to donate to CHIPS by cheque, any cheques we receive for this campaign will not be eligible for match funding. If you are not used to giving online and wish to take advantage of the opportunity to double the value of your donation, we would ask you to find someone you trust to help you complete the online donation process. It is straightforward and secure.
