TASTE 2010 Vendor OF CHICAGO Application TASTE OF CHICAGO is the nation’s premier outdoor food festival showcasing the diversity of Chicago’s dining community. The delicious array of food served at TASTE OF CHICAGO is complemented by music and exciting activities for people of all ages. Since 1980, Chicago’s beautiful Grant Park on the city’s magnificent lakefront has been transformed into the world’s largest food and free entertainment festival. In 2009, more than 3.3 million attendees purchased more than $7 million dollars worth of food from 50+ participating restaurants. This year’s event will take place on Friday, June 25 – Sunday, July 4, 2010. Chicago’s media community is a strong supporter of TASTE OF CHICAGO. Many of the city’s top TV and radio stations participate in the event, providing extensive publicity for the event through public service messages, live broadcasts and additional programming. Participating TV and radio stations in 2009 included: WXRT, V-103, WGCI, THE MIX 101.9 and Channel 9. Chicago’s TV news stations also give positive coverage about TASTE OF CHICAGO. Restaurants that have participated in the past have found that TASTE is a fabulous marketing tool for their business. The public relations and good will generated at TASTE have a positive residual effect on participating restaurants year-round. Many restaurant participants have found they have attracted new customers due to the heightened awareness created by Taste. Also, restaurants have a great opportunity to participate in pre-event promotions for even more exposure.
