Act One Act One Chiffon, Crystal and Ronnette (characters named after female doo-wop girl groups in the 1960s), set the scene (Prologue "Little Shop of Horrors"). These three girls comment on the action throughout the show. Seymour Krelborn is a poor Scene 1: “Prologue (Little Shop of Horrors)” ...... Chiffon, young man, an orphan living in urban skid row. Audrey is a pretty blonde with a Crystal & Ronnette fashion sense that leans towards the tacky. They lament their station in life and seek a life away from the urban blight ("Skid Row (Downtown)"). They are co-workers at Scene 2: “Skid Row (Downtown)” ...... The Company Mushnik's Skid Row Florists, a run-down flower shop owned and operated by the cranky and sly Mr. Mushnik. Seymour has recently obtained a mysterious plant that Scene 3: “Da-Doo” ...... Chiffon, Crystal & Ronnette looks like a large venus fly trap. While he was browsing the wholesale flower district, Scene 4: “Grow for Me” ...... Seymour a sudden eclipse of the sun occurred, and when the light returned, the weird plant had appeared ("Da-Doo"). Seymour is secretly in love with Audrey, and names the Scene 5: “You Never Know” ...... Mushnik, Chiffon, Crystal, plant Audrey II in her honor Ronnette & Seymour The little plant does not thrive in its new environment and appears to be dying. Seymour questions why it should be doing poorly when he takes such good care of it. Scene 6: “Somewhere That’s Green” ...... Audrey He accidentally pricks his finger on a rose's thorn, which draws blood, and Audrey II's pod opens thirstily. Seymour realizes that Audrey II requires blood to survive and Scene 7: “Closed for Renovations” ...... Seymour, allows the plant to suckle from his finger ("Grow For Me"). As Audrey II grows, the Audrey & Mushnik plant becomes an attraction and begins generating substantial business for Mushnik. Being the owner of the plant, Seymour has suddenly gone from loser to hero ("Ya Scene 8: “Dentist” ...... Orin, Chiffon, Crystal & Ronnette Never Know"). Audrey reveals she is not happy in her relationship and secretly has Scene 9: “Mushnik and Son” ...... Mushnik & Seymour feelings for the timid Seymour. She sings that her ultimate dream is to have the ideal suburban life with Seymour, complete with a tract home, frozen dinners and plastic Scene 10: “Feed Me (Git It)” ...... Seymour & Audrey II on the furniture ("Somewhere That's Green"). Meanwhile, the employees at Mushnik's are sprucing up the flower shop, due to Scene 11: “Now (It’s Just The Gas)” ...... Seymour & Orin the popularity of the now large Audrey II, and the revenue it is bringing in ("Closed for Renovation"). Orin Scrivello, a sadistic dentist, is Audrey's abusive boyfriend. Modeled after the "Leader of the pack" characters of the 1950s, Orin drives a motorcycle, wears leather, and enjoys bringing other people pain ("Dentist!"). Act Two Realizing that his sudden profitability is completely dependent on the plant -and therefore Seymour- Mushnik takes advantage of Seymour's innocence by offering to adopt him and bring him on as a full partner in the business ("Mushnik & Son"). Scene 1: “Call Back In The Morning” ...... Seymour & Audrey Having always wanted a family, Seymour accepts, not realizing he is being conned. Seymour is having difficulty providing enough blood to keep Audrey II healthy. Scene 2: “Suddenly, Seymour” ...... Seymour & Audrey When Seymour stops feeding the plant, Audrey II reveals that it can speak (in a deep, Scene 3: “Suppertime” ...... Audrey II demanding voice), and says that by feeding it, Seymour will ensure that all of his dreams will come true ("Feed Me (Git It)"). Seymour initially refuses, but then Scene 4: “The Meek Shall Inherit” ...... The Company witnesses Orin abusing Audrey. The plant presents this as a justification for killing Orin. Not realizing he is being manipulated again, Seymour gives into his bad Scene 5: “Sominex / Suppertime (Reprise)” .... Audrey & Audrey II instincts and agrees. He sets up a late-night appointment with Orin, intending to kill him. However, Seymour loses his nerve and decides not to commit the crime. Scene 6: “Finale (Don’t Feed The Plants)” ...... The Company Unfortunately for Orin, who has been gassing himself with nitrous oxide, the gas device gets stuck in the 'on' position, and he overdoses while asking Seymour to help save him. Seymour lets the sadistic dentist die laughing ("Now (It's Just The Gas)"). He is currently a junior Kendra Ford, Abbie Levesque, and has been involved in "West Side Story” (Toro) "Side Show” (The Charlotte Paul, Dominique Resendes, Geek), “Back to the ‘80’s” (Tom), “Honk!” (Billy) and “The Wizard of Oz” (The Wizard). Along with participation in the Musical Lauren Soares, and Paige Viveiros Production, Daniel is a proud 4 year member of Concert Choir, Chorale, and Somerset's Show Choir "Electrify". He would like to thank Mr. Richard Sylvia for all the help and encouragement that he has provided. Kaitlyn Sheehan, and Paige Thorpe Danny would also like to thank Mr. Lennie Machado for being an amazing teacher and director towards everyone in the cast. Danny wishes to act on everything he has learned as a performer from these mentors. Sarah Mayer – Ronnette “Skid Row” Sarah is thrilled to be able to perform this year as Ronnette, alongside two other extremely talented senior musicians and close friends in the “Greek Chorus”. She has been devoted to the music Pit Orchestra department since the beginning of her high school career performing in “Grease” (Rizzo), “West Side Story” (Gratziella) and “Side Show” (Daisy Hilton). Sarah is also involved in Concert Choir, Treble Choir, Chorale, Jazz Band and Somerset’s Show Choir, Conductor ...... Mr. David M. Marshall “Electrify”! She will be attending BCC in the fall and is planning on pursuing a career in music education. She hopes to become as Flute, Bb Clarinet & Alto Saxophone ...... Andrew Conlon inspirational as her two teachers, Mr. Sylvia & Mr. Marshall. She would also like to thank her director, Mr. Lennie Machado whose guidance has taught the cast so much. Audrey II in this year’s production of “Little Shop of Horrors”. He is a junior and has been involved in “West Side Story” (Luis) and in Trombone ...... David Gray “Side Show” (Roustabout). Along with the Musical Production, Cameron is a proud 2 year member of the Concert Choir, Chorale Synthesizer & Piano ...... Krista Viveiros and Somerset’s Show Choir “Electrify”! Since his sophomore year, the Music Department and everyone in it has become like a family to him. He would like to thank Mr. Richard Sylvia for all Piano & Accordion ...... He also had a small part in Youth Musical Theater Corporation’s production of “Cinderella” in 2007. Next he acted opposite Danny Weeks in the Somerset Middle School play “Knights of the Rad Table”. In his eighth grade year, Kieran starred as the Wolf in “The Big Bad Musical”. Last year he played “The Shiek” in Somerset High School’s Spring Musical Producation “Side Show”. He is now a part of the Show Choir, Chorale, Marching Band, Concert Choir, and Symphonic Winds Ensemble at Somerset High School. He would like to thank his mother and father for all of their support.
