Description Gap junction alpha-4 protein, also called Connexin 37 (CX37) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the GJA4 gene. This gene is mapped to 1p34.3. This gene encodes a member of the connexin gene family. The encoded protein is a component of gap junctions, which are composed of arrays of intercellular channels that provide a route for the diffusion of low molecular weight materials from cell to cell. Mutations in this gene have been associated with atherosclerosis and a higher risk of myocardial infarction. GJA4 had been shown to reflect the stage and maturity of luteinized follicles in animal studies.
Application Notes The stated application concentrations are suggested starting amounts. Titration of the GJA4 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
Immunogen An amino acid sequence from the N-terminus of human Gap junction alpha-4 (DWGFLEKLLDQVQEH) was used as the immunogen for this GJA4 antibody (100% homologous in human, mouse and rat).
Storage After reconstitution, the GJA4 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
