York Parks and Recreation Coed Softball Rules York parks and Recreation Coed softball rules Games will be played at the York Ballpark Complex. If weather is bad, games will be called ahead of time. Please use your best judgment on field condition. If you can see your tracks made by your shoes it is probably too wet. Thanks for helping us keep the fields in great condition this summer. 1. This is an adult player’s league. Minimum age for players is 16 years old by June 1st of the current year. 2. Team rosters are due at the Community Center by July 16. Roster maximum is 25 players. Players must play in at least 2 games to be tournament eligible. 3. Team batting order must be submitted to the league supervisor before the start of each game. Teams have a choice to have a continuous batting order or just the 10 players that are playing the field during that inning. 4. Teams field 10 players, 5 men and 5 women. If playing only 9, a minimum of 4 female players must be in field positions. 5. When batting, there will be an automatic out between two men batting in a row. If a male batter is walked, the following female batter is given the option to bat or automatically walk. Batting order will alternate male/female. Either a male or female may lead off the batting order. 6. Home run rule: 4 home runs per game. All others count as outs. 7. Coed Softball will be played with a 12” softball. Balls will be provided by the City of York. If you choose to bring your own ball, the ball must be used by both teams and agreed upon by the two playing teams and the ump prior to the start of the game. 8. Time limit will be 1 hour 15 minutes, or 7 innings. A new inning will not be started with less than 8 minutes to play. 9. Run rule: 15 after 3, 12 after 4, 10 after 5. 10. If game is stopped for weather during or before 3rd inning, rematch. After 3rd, game is complete. 11. Starting count on the batters will be 1-1. This means that batters will begin their turn at bat with 1 strike and 1 ball. The purpose of this is to speed up play and allow for more innings to be played within the time limit. A foul ball hit as a third strike will be counted as “no strike” with the next foul ball a strike and therefore equals an out. 12. Steel/metal cleats are not allowed. Closed toe shoes must be worn. 13. Umpires will be used for this league. In the situation of a make-up game, if an ump is not available, you may use our strike plates. Strike plate rules: If the pitcher hits the strike plate with a legally pitched ball, it is considered a strike. Any other placement of the ball is considered a ball. 14. All players must use a composite softball bat. 15. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed at the City Park at any time. Anyone found in possession on City property will be asked to leave. For a second violation, the team the offender is on will be kicked out of the league. 16. Tobacco of any form is not allowed on the playing field or in the dugout. 17. No protests are allowed. 18. An outfield 150 foot encroachment rule will be in effect. 19. Teams must consist of a female catcher/male pitcher or vice versa. 20. Fields are not to be played on when wet. 21. Teams must use the game scheduled provided by our office. No “revised” schedules from any team will be permitted. 22. Players can play on multiple teams until the tournament starts, then players must play for the team that they signed the roster for. 23. Score will be kept by the league supervisor so you will not need to report the scores to Jill. Note: The York Parks and Recreation has the option to modify these rules at any time during the season, as required to facilitate orderly play and/or safety.     2021 CVLL Junior & Senior Divisions Playing Rules Please take note that these rules are in addition, not a replacement, to the 2021 Official Little League Rulebook. 1. Home Team Responsibilities: The home team is responsible for the field set up before each game and conditioning the field after each game & practice. This includes putting out/away bases, raking and/or dragging the infield and LOCKING the boxes before you leave. The visiting team is expected to assist the home team. Both teams are responsible for cleaning up dugouts; garbage must be IN the can & not left loosely in the dugout. Failure to do so will result in reduced privileges of the field & equipment; and any equipment lost due to unlocked boxes will be replaced by the home team manager The home team is responsible for recording the score on the league website. 2. Minimum Participation Requirement: A. Each player on a team must play a minimum of 2 innings (6 outs) in every regular season game. a. NOTE: Any player that does not meet the minimum requirements due to the game being shortened because of weather or time limit must play a complete game at the next regular season game. B. CONTINOUS BATTING ORDER: Each team will make up a batting order consisting of all members of the team that are present for the game, regardless of the number of players present for the opposing team.     2021 FSA 11U/12U and 13U/14U Kid Pitch Baseball Rules Revised August 4, 2021 FSA Baseball is not currently affiliated with any organization (i.e. Little League, Five Tool, etc.). However, Five Tool Youth (formerly Nations) rules will serve as the primary set of rules for FSA Baseball except as modified herein. If no modification to the applicable rule is incorporated, the Five Tool Youth rules shall prevail. ELIGIBILTY: 11U/12U division will be restricted to players 12 years of age and younger. 13U/14U will be restricted to players 14 years of age and younger. Players wishing to play up may do so one age level only and shall be addressed on a case by case basis. RUN LIMITS: There will be a run limit of 5 runs per half inning. GAME TIME: Game times will be 90 mins or 6 innings. No new inning shall be started with 5 minutes or less remaining on the clock. If the game time ends during the middle of an inning (visiting team is batting) and the home team is winning, the game shall end with the home team declared the winner. If the home team is losing, they will finish batting. If a tie exists after 6 innings or the time limit expires, the result of the game will be a tie. There are no extra innings during regular season play. Note: There is a HARD STOP at 100 minutes. The winner will be determined by reverting back to the last completed inning. The game originated as an indoor variation of baseball and was eventually converted to an outdoor game. A walk occurs when the pitcher throws four balls. It is rare that a hitter can round all the bases during her own at-bat; therefore, her strategy is often to get “on base” and advance during the next at-bat.

  • The “Slotted” Batting Order
    The “Slotted” Batting Order RULE : The league utilizes the “slotted” batting order. Each team will present a 9 position, or 10 position, batting order prior to the start of the game. A 9 position batting order is only permissible if only 9 players are present. Each position in the batting order must have at least one (1) player, but is permitted to have up to two (2) players in each position. All eligible players in attendance at the start of the game must be assigned to a position in the batting order prior to the start of the game. Positions with two players assigned shall be interchangeable. The team manager or coach shall designate which player will take the turn at bat when the position comes due in the batting order. The team manager or coach shall designate which player shall run the bases should the batter for st that position reach base. Such designation of the base runner must be made prior to the1 pitch of the subsequent batter after the batter reaches base. The order shall, at all times, have at least one (1) player in each of the9 positions. If a player, who is alone in a specific position in the batting order, is removed from the game for any reason, another player must be advanced, from a 2 person position in the order, to take the place of the departing player. Late arriving players may be inserted to any available position in the order that has only one player occupying a position. Minimum play rules apply.
