This results in a less than optimal fit for the vehicle. Wire length measurements are important to the overall fit and function of your newly installed brake wear sensor. If the sensor cable is too short, it can be stretched during installation or during hard vehicle turns and potentially cause a break or tear in the sensor wire. If the sensor cable is too long, it can become entangled with other suspension components, potentially causing damage to the sensor. Both cases lead to loss of connectivity and premature system failure. This will require replacement of the sensor. TekMaster® brake wear sensors are developed to meet the OE wire length specifications.
