  • 2020 Buffalo Fanatics Draft Prospectus
2020 Buffalo Fanatics Draft Prospectus Director of College Scouting Steve Mathes _ @JudgeMathes Positional Outlook Quarterback Buffalo is not going to look to rock the boat by bringing in a legitimate threat to Josh Allen’s job, they believe in him as the franchise QB. Players Met With or “Linked-To” Likewise, they don’t appear to be looking to challenge Matt Barkley as a James Morgan - Florida International back-up either. He has a great relationship with Allen, isn’t threatening his job, and brings traits Allen doesn’t have like anticipatory throwing they hope will rub off on him. That leaves Davis Webb, the practice squad QB, as the only one at real risk of competition. The Bills met with Morgan, but this was before his stock significantly heated up. If the Bills decide to challenge Webb look for a UDFA QB to be the guy to do it. Running Back The Buffalo Bills have only two viable runners on their roster currently in Devin Singletary and TJ Yeldon. They will look to add a third to this tandem to replace Players Met With or “Linked-To” the departed Frank Gore. Cam Akers - Florida St. Gore was known as the “bruiser”. When he was on the field defenses tended to JK Dobbins - Ohio St. know what was coming. It appears from their list of potential targets the Bills Clyde Edwards-Hellaire - LSU are looking to buck that trend. Darrynton Evans - Appalachian St. Zack Moss - Utah On their list are mostly “All-Purpose Backs” and one guy who is all traits (SPEED) D’Andre Swift - Georgia in Darrynton Evans.

  • O'halloran: Broncos Trading for Joe Flacco Will Be a Boon Behind The
O’Halloran: Broncos trading for Joe Flacco will be a boon behind the scenes — and bring a sigh of relief for Vic Fangio By Ryan O’Halloran The Denver Post February 14, 2019 Ten thoughts for new Broncos quarterback Joe Flacco and his 10 career postseason wins: 1. I was guilty of overthinking the Broncos’ plans. I thought Option A might be keeping Case Keenum to begin the season but then giving the 10th overall pick (or higher) a chance to play with an eye toward 2020. Uh, not quite. The Broncos went the Conventional Route. They targeted a veteran quarterback and traded for him. Neat and simple. They also went the Old-School Route. In a developing era of mobile quarterbacks, the Broncos acquired themselves a gunslinger. 2. Flacco was 4-3 all-time against the Broncos (nine touchdowns, five interceptions). At Mile High, he won 38-35 in January 2013 (playoffs), lost 49-27 in the 2013 season opener and lost 19-13 in the 2015 season opener. The playoff win was memorable. Flacco threw a 70-yard touchdown pass with 31 seconds left in regulation to force overtime. The Ravens finished that season by beating San Francisco in the Super Bowl. 3. Flacco is 34 years old. He has never been to the Pro Bowl. He lost his job to a rookie last year. But for a fourth-round pick, he is worth the risk … and, really, it’s not a risk. What stands out about him is completion percentage (64.9 and 64.1 his last two full years), his durability (played all 16 games in nine of his 10 years) and his playoff form (10 wins).

  • Broncos' Emmanuel Sanders Sheds Walking Boot After Achilles Surgery
LOOK: Broncos’ Emmanuel Sanders sheds walking boot after Achilles surgery By Kyle Fredrickson Denver Post Feb. 6, 2019 If Emmanuel Sanders’ dance moves are any indication, he’s reached an important milestone in his injury rehabilitation this offseason. Sanders, a ninth-year Broncos’ wide receiver who tore his Achilles during practice in December, posted a video Monday to Instagram of himself hopping out of a black Mercedes-Benz SUV — without a walking boot — before a quick celebratory jig. His caption read: “Slight limp but I’m finally out of the boot.” Two months have passed between Sanders’ injury and the post, but a long journey remains for him to be able to play. Former NFL team doctor David Chao told The Denver Post in December: “Recovery is not like a light switch, more of a slow sunrise. Some have returned as early as six months but may not have been 100 percent. Nine months is a good target but to really be explosive (it) could be longer and closer to a year. This is why I expect (Sanders) likely will not be ready or 100 percent for start of (the 2019) season.” However, Sanders expressed little doubt in December he’ll return to being the same playmaker he showcased in 12 games last season with a team-leading 71 receptions for 868 yards. He also accounted for six total touchdowns (four receiving, one rushing and one passing). “I’ll definitely for sure be ready for Week 1,” Sanders said in December. “This is a six-month injury. I heal fast.” Never-before-told stories about Pat Bowlen from those who know him best — his children By Mike Klis 9 News Feb.

  • “Building a Championship Team” Attitude Over Aptitude: the Raven's
September 2015 “Building a Championship Team” Attitude over Aptitude: The Raven’s Way By Mickey Matthews Building Championship Teams and Winning in Hyper-Competitive Markets What does an NFL franchise and a multinational corporation have in common? For one thing, they both want to achieve the highest level of success possible while confronting ever increasing levels of competition. To do so, they both require a unique, unifying culture and an innovative approach to hiring talented people who can develop and coalesce into winning teams and achieve this breakthrough performance goal. That was the message that Eric DeCosta, Assistant General Manager of the Super Bowl-winning Baltimore Ravens, delivered at the Stanton Chase (SC) 25th anniversary celebration. DeCosta, in charge of talent scouting and personnel hiring and management, has been extremely successful in building championship teams in the highly competitive environment that is the National Football League. Since he joined the Ravens in 1996, the team has won the Super Bowl twice, made the playoffs 10 times including 7 of the last 8 years, and recruited dozens of Pro Bowlers and marquee players. Looking into the future In listening to Mr. DeCosta, Mickey Matthews, International Chairman of Stanton Chase notes: “The keys to building a successful football team do not differ from those of a corporation, and successful talent management strategies are among the highest priorities.” When it comes to identifying and recruiting NFL players, doing things “the old way” — scouting players based only on performance ability (how fast they can run, how high they can jump, how well they throw and catch, etc.) — can lead to mediocre results, or worse, said DeCosta.

  • Arizona Cardinals
ARIZONA CARDINALS Passing Game: QB Kyler Murray • Week 1 – 230, 1-1, 13-91-1 @ SF. Murray was actually at 100 RUYD before kneeling twice for -5 yards in victory formation. Fantasy football can be so heart- breaking. His performance was still nice after a slow start. He meshed well with DeAndre Hopkins, operating at an up-tempo pace (76 snaps). Murray’s rushing was the difference against a good 49ers defense, allowing the Cardinals to come from behind and pull off the week 1 upset. • Week 2 – 286, 1-1, 8-67-2 vs. WAS. The speedy, elusive Murray again made defenders look silly on his way to the end zone twice on scrambles. He is running a lot more this year. He’s showing out with a better supporting cast thanks to DeAndre Hopkins. • Week 3 – 270, 2-3, 5-29-1 vs. DET. He wasn’t very good in this game, but the fantasy points were still scored because he accounted for all 3 of the Cardinals’ TDs. Murray’s RUTD was a ridiculously freaky juke that embarrassed the defender. He has a RUTD in 3 straight games. Murray relentlessly worked his connection with DeAndre Hopkins and found Andy Isabella for his first score. • Week 4 – 133, 3-0, 6-78-0 @ CAR. Murray and the Cardinals offense was much worse in real life, but Murray’s fantasy line was great. The Cardinals were outmatched for more than 2 quarters. At halftime, Murray had 54 PAYD. Murray turned it on when the Cards were trailing 28-7.
