Ran only five times, winning over 10 furlongs on her racecourse debut, and placed over 12 furlongs in Ireland, where she was trained by John Oxx for Sheikh Mohammed. Own sister to BOLAS, a top class 12 furlong-filly, bred and raced by Khalid Abdullah. Trained by Barry Hills, Bolas won the Irish Oaks Gr.1 at The Curragh, Ribblesdale Stakes Gr.2 at Royal Ascot and Cheshire Oaks L. at Chester. She is the second dam of GOOD MORNING STAR, winner of the Cheshire Oaks L. and third in the Bahrain Trophy Gr.3 at Newmarket in 2012. This family is still thriving. 2nd Dam THREE STARS (Star Appeal) raced just four times and won 2 races over 12 furlongs, winning her maiden by 10 lengths. Three Stars has produced 8 winners from 12 runners, including the classic winner BOLAS (see above). STAR OF DANCE (Sadler's Wells), a smart filly who won over 12 furlongs at Saint-Cloud as a 3 year old as well as finishing 4th in a Gr.3 event at Longchamp (trained by Andre Fabre). HUNTER'S BELT (Intikhab), winner over 11 and 12 furlongs on the flat and was a very useful jumper (1 win in NH Flat Race, 3 wins over hurdles), placed 9 times. 3rd Dam PIROGUE (Reliance II), won the Golden Hind Stakes over a mile at Ascot as a 3 year old, where she next ran a good 4th to Northern Princess in the Ribblesdale Stakes Gr.2 over 12 furlongs at the Royal Ascot meeting. Eight of Pirogue's ten runners were winners. The best was the famous LONGBOAT (Welsh Pageant), a Champion Stayer in England who completed the "Stayers' Triple Crown”. Longboat won 9 of his 18 races, including the Ascot Gold Cup Gr.1, Doncaster Cup Gr.3, Goodwood Cup Gr.3, Henry II Stakes Gr.3. A tremendous performer, he was also runner-up in the Ascot Gold Cup Gr.1 once. He was trained by Major Dick Hern for his breeder Richard Hollingsworth. Pirogue comes from the excellent family of Torpid, Tepukei and Sloop. Pirouge was out of CUTTER, a top class filly with wins in the Yorkshire Cup Gr.2 and Park Hill Stakes Gr.3, who turned out to be a very successful broodmare. Pirogue's half-sister, Cutle (Saint Crespin), herself a dual winner, became the dam of two classic winners; the Irish 2,000 Guineas Gr.1 and Prix Jean Prat Gr.1 winner SHARP EDGE, and CUT ABOVE, the colt who beat Shergar to win the St. Leger Stakes Gr.1. Major Dick Hern trained these two horses as well.
