ANSAS CITY, Kan. — Have you ever won - dered how an archbish - op lives? Well, wonder K no more. Recently, Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann gave Leaven reporter Joe Bollig and videographer Susan McSpadden a tour of his home, a video of which is now available on The Leaven’s Web site. The two-story beige brick house near downtown Kansas City, Kan., was built in 1956 by Archbishop Edward J. Hunkeler and has been the home of three arch - bishops since then. Like most homes, the archbishop’s residence features a kitchen, a living room, bedrooms, etc. It has a few in - teresting additional features, howev - er, that you won’t find in your average WyCo home: a chapel, complete with altar and stained-glass windows, and interior walls a full 10 inches thick. And did we mention the bomb shel - ter? But perhaps more interesting than the various features of the house is how Archbishop Naumann eats, sleeps, works, plays and prays here on Minnesota Avenue — in short, how he’s made this unusual house his home. For the first two segments of the nine-part video tour, visit The Leaven’s Web site at: www. theleaven.com. Additional segments will be posted on Fridays with each new online version of The Leaven.
