For discussion PWSC(2021-22)13 on 12 May 2021 ITEM FOR PUBLIC WORKS SUBCOMMITTEE OF FINANCE COMMITTEE HEAD 708 – CAPITAL SUBVENTIONS AND MAJOR SYSTEMS AND EQUIPMENT Education Subventions 97EB – In-situ redevelopment of Wa Ying College at 8 Sheung Wo Street, Kowloon Members are invited to recommend to the Finance Committee the upgrading of 97EB to Category A at an estimated cost of $473.3 million in money-of-the-day prices for the in-situ redevelopment of Wa Ying College at 8 Sheung Wo Street, Kowloon. PROBLEM There is redevelopment need of Wa Ying College (WYC) to improve its learning and teaching environment. PROPOSAL 2. The Secretary for Education, on the advice of the Director of Architectural Services, proposes to upgrade 97EB to Category A at an estimated cost of $473.3 million in money-of-the-day (MOD) prices for the redevelopment of WYC. /PROJECT ….. PWSC(2021-22)13 Page 2 PROJECT SCOPE AND NATURE 3. The project scope includes the demolition of the existing buildings of WYC and construction of a 30-classroom secondary school premises on the cleared site to provide the following facilities - (a) 30 classrooms; (b) three small group teaching rooms; (c) six special rooms, comprising a music room, a visual arts room, a computer assisted learning room, a multi- purpose room and two integrated science laboratories; (d) 11 equipment-based multi-purpose rooms, comprising a biology laboratory, a preparation room for biology laboratory 1 , a physics laboratory, a chemistry laboratory, a preparation room for physics and chemistry laboratory, a dark room for physics, a design and technology workshop, a needlework room, a home management room, a geography room and a computer room; (e) a library-cum-language room; (f) a guidance activity room; (g) two interview rooms; (h) a staff room and a staff common room; (i) a conference room; (j) an assembly hall; (k) a student activity centre; (l) covered playgrounds; (m) multi-purpose areas; /(n) …. -

In this issue, we have featured several highly of talented alumni who have made a considerable impact in their chosen careers in the contemporary world of acting, music, social media, CONTENTS fashion and writing. I hope you will enjoy reading about each alumni’s KGV’s Pop King amazing journey from ESF School to the world of work. I was appointed as development & alumni manager for Island 04 School in October 2014. This past year has been incredibly rewarding as ESF builds on its success to provide a first class international education, develop broader community support and School of Rock embark on extensive redevelopment projects for the benefit of student learning. Island School’s redevelopment plan for its Borrett Justin Sweeting Road site started in earnest in early 2006. Island School will also Island School (IS) celebrate its 50th Anniversary in mid-2017, and the development office is working closely with stakeholders of the school in planning 08 several celebrations for this most iconic event in the school’s history! The Island School Alumni Association (“ISAA”) continues to expand its alumni network.They engage with current students, explore Fashion Forward mentorship and internship opportunities, design career sessions and provide networking opportunities. -

KENNEDY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER No. 15, 4 May 2018 MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL Dear Parents, Only six weeks until the end of the school year with a jam packed schedule ahead for everyone. Can I personally thank the Kennedy School community for supporting our “Hands on Hong Kong”, “Sunshine Action” Charity Food drive. Firstly, for collecting the amazing number of bottles of oil and tins of meat, secondly for the 150 families who helped out on Saturday, 5th of May to pack the food bags and finally to the families and staff who helped deliver the bags to those in need last Saturday, 12th May. A real community effort. This week we have had Kennedy School teams compete in a number of different events. The Kennedy Battle of the Books team made it to the final of the Hong Kong competition. Our SUNSHINE ACTION cricket teams both played with team A being runners up in the Island Schools Cup final. Our Aquathon team won the YEAR 6 DATES FOR THE CALENDAR invitational event at Kellett School Kowloon. Well done to all our teams! 30 MAY Year 5 have been impressing us with their business presentations YEAR 6 EXHIBITION (6PM-8PM) 21 JUNE this week and I would like to thank the mums and dads for joining YEAR 6 SHOW (6PM-7.30PM) in on the presentation panels and sharing their expertise with 27 JUNE YEAR 6 GRADUATION (5PM-8.30PM) us. Today one of our school council community representatives shared his family business story with two Year 5 classes.
