U18 WOMENS VICTORIAN Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Over the Christmas holidays I was involved in playing 11.45am - 12.30pm lunch cricket for the North East Knights in the Victorian Commonwealth Bank Pathway Program. We were 1.45pm – 2.15pm afternoon recess undefeated in all games and made it through to the Grand Final at the MCG against Western Spirit. The Spirit won the toss and bowled first. We got off to Tuesday (Sport days) a great start making 20 runs in 2 overs. But a few 11.00am – 11.25am morning recess quick steadied the run rate. Top scores were 20 and 16 with an end score of 97 off 20 overs. 12.30pm – 1.30pm lunch We got off to another great start with the ball, getting a in the first over. Their next partnership was broken by a great catch to get their batter out. Going into the last over they needed a run a ball, a fluke runout by the bowler made it harder for them. A few dot balls and it was suddenly 4 runs off the last ball. It was hit straight to the fielder and the North East Knights Under 18‟s were announced champions for the first time ever.
