Meet the Chiefs Gala ULI Toronto’s 2nd Annual Regional Gala Event – April 7th 2016 JOIN THE CONVERSATION. BECOME A MEMBER. toronto.uli.org MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our 2nd annual Meet the Chiefs gala for the professional land use community. We are looking forward to a fantastic evening fi lled with lively dialogue as we launch an exciting new chapter for ULI Toronto: Our ‘Electric Cities’ initiative. Founded in 1936, The Urban Land Institute (‘ULI’) provides leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. As one of 75 District Councils within the ULI network, ULI Toronto carries forward that mission by serving the Greater Toronto Region’s public and private sector community. As a nonpartisan organization, ULI is recognized as one of the most respected and widely quoted sources of objective information on urban planning, growth and development. Electric Cities, the focal point for this evening’s event, is a multi-year initiative that will concentrate on the intersection of placemaking, mobility, and technology from the community perspective. It’s about leveraging our multi-disciplinary expertise, international network of real estate leaders, and our commitment to the long-term time horizon to advance the responsible use of land in our region. Electric Cities is putting the unique interests and needs of our region and its communities fi rst. Creating a healthy community requires a city to focus its attention on collaboration. Tonight, I extend my sincere thanks to the participation of our public sector professional planners, and to our event and table sponsors for pro viding this opportunity to meet and exchange ideas. Meet the Chiefs is yet another ULI Toronto opportunity to bring smart people together to shape the future of our City. We thank you for helping to make this such an important milestone moment for our organization.
