    To the Lord Mayor and Report No. 249/2018 Members of Dublin City Council Report of the Transportation Strategic Policy Committee _________________________________________________________________________ With reference to proposal to adopt the Dublin City Council Special Speed Limit Bye- Laws 2018 _________________________________________________________________________ At its meeting of 12th September, 2018, the Transportation Strategic Policy Committee recommended the Dublin City Council Special Speed Limit Bye-Laws, 2018, to the City Council for adoption, following consideration of the report on the public consultation as set out hereunder. The Dublin City Council Special Speed Limit Bye-Laws 2018 for adoption are attached. Resolution: “That Dublin City Council notes the contents of Report No. 249/2018 and hereby resolves to adopt the Special Speed Limit Bye-Laws 2018 as outlined in the report”. Councillor Ciarán Cuffe Chairperson, 12th September, 2018 Report submitted to the Transportation Strategic Policy Committee meeting of 12th September, 2018 Introduction Dublin City Council has undertaken a review of speed limits within its administrative area and has engaged through consultation with members of the public, with particular regard to the extension of the 30 km/h speed limit into further residential areas of our city. The review of current speed limits is being undertaken in accordance with the publication of the ‘Guidelines for Setting & Managing Speed Limits in Ireland’ (March 2015) published by the Department of Transport Tourism and Sport. The principle objective of assessing the appropriate speed limits for our roads and streets is to ensure that the set speed limits are as safe and appropriate as possible for vulnerable road users, including children.

No. 870 of 2007 DERELICT SITES (URBAN AREAS) REGULATIONS, 2007 The Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, in exer- cise of the powers conferred on him by sections 4 and 21 of the Derelict Sites Act, 1990 (No. 14 of 1990), hereby makes the following Regulations:— Citation. 1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Derelict Sites (Urban Areas) Regulations, 2007. (2) These Regulations and the Derelict Sites Regulations, 1990 to 2006 may be cited together as the Derelict Sites Regulations, 1990 to 2007. Prescription of urban areas 2. The areas in the administrative counties of Kildare and Longford indicated in Column 2 of the Schedule to these Regulations opposite the mention of the relevant administrative county in Column 1 of the said Schedule are hereby prescribed to be urban areas for the purposes of the Derelict Sites Act, 1990.
