GUIDELINES FOR APPLICANTS for SHOOTING NATIONAL TECHNICAL OFFICIAL ROLES AT THE 2018 GOLD COAST - as at December 2016

Introduction Shooting Australian (SA), in conjunction with the Gold Coast Corporation (GOLDOC), are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified Technical Officials (NTO’s) to assist in delivering the GC2018 Shooting Events.

An NTO is a qualified ISSF/ICFRA Referee. An NTO has a strong understanding of the competition requirements/procedures relevant to the sport of Shooting, and experience in the delivery of Shooting competitions at a national or international level. During the Games, NTO’s will be assigned to the following roles in all disciplines being FULLBORE, PISTOL, RIFLE and SHOTGUN.

 Armoury Officials  Classification Officers  Range Officers (All Disciplines)  Firearms Manager  Equipment Control Officers

Pre-Games and Games Time requirements All NTOs appointed to work at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games are required to meet the following pre-Games and Games Time requirements:  Be available to officiate at the 2017 Commonwealth Federation Championships/ during the period of 28th October – 8th December 2017  Be available to officiate at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games for the period of 2nd – 15th April 2018.  Undergo and comply with a security background check  Wear the allocated volunteer uniform and accreditation pass at all times when on-shift.

Registration Process NTO Expressions of interest (EOI’s) will be sought by SA. The EOI forms will be available from shootingaustralia.com.au until 5pm AEST, on Friday 17 February, 2017.

As there will be limited National Technical Official (NTO) positions available during the games, interested NTO’s are also encouraged to also register as a Sport Specific Volunteer (SSV) in case they are unsuccessful in obtaining an NTO role. To do this, interested NTO’s need to:

1. Return the completed NTO expression of Interest form to the SA; and 2. Register as a SSV online at the GC2018 Volunteer Portal.

Shooting encourages all interested NTO’s to register through BOTH channels in case they are not successful in obtaining an NTO role. By doing so, unplaced NTO’s may still be able to take part in the delivery of the GC2018 Shooting competition

Successful applicants will be advised of their appointment by the issue of a formal Letter of Offer. Offers will be generated and issued by GC2018. Further communications, including details of rosters, an invitation to collect a uniform and accreditation pass will be sent to NTOs in due course.

The appointment of NTOs and notifications will be made in early 2017.
