The goal of this research work is to highlight the features of the change occurring within the organisational (post)dramatic realm of American serial television. -
Resume Examples
RÉSUMÉ TEMPLATES The following examples are provided to help you create your first résumé. There are six templates: 1) actor 2) designer/technician 3) stage manager 4) director 5) playwright 6) first-time résumé for someone just out of high school, combined with a general theatre résumé covering multiple areas of experience Length: An actor’s résumé should be a single page in length. When attached to a headshot, it should be trimmed to 8” x 10”. Résumés for other areas do not need to be limited to one page. There are many possible variations in style and format, and each template has a slightly different approach. Look over all of the samples for formatting ideas, even those that do not apply to your specific area of interest. You are also encouraged to contact faculty for advice and feedback on your drafts. Please note, résumés for graduate schools in theatre, professional theatres, and theatre internships are different from your typical business résumés. The sample résumés provided by the Center for Community Engagement and Career Education <http://www.csub.edu/cece/students/who_method.shtml> are useful if you are applying for a position outside of theatre, but their formats should not be used for jobs or graduate school applications within the theatre field. ® ® 2019 CELEBRATING JIMMY NEDERLANDER James M. Nederlander or “Jimmy,” Chairman of The Nederlander Organization, was the visionary theatrical impresario who built one of the largest private live entertainment companies in the world known for producing and presenting world-class entertainment since 1912. Jimmy started working in the theatre at age 7 sweeping floors for his father, David Tobias (D.T.) Nederlander, in Detroit, Michigan. During a career that spanned over 70 years, Jimmy amassed a network of premier legitimate theatres including nine on Broadway: the Brooks Atkinson, Gershwin, Lunt-Fontanne, Marquis, Minskoff, Nederlander, Neil Simon, Richard Rodgers, and the world famous Palace; in Los Angeles: The Pantages; in London: the Adelphi, Aldwych, and Dominion; and in Chicago: the Auditorium, Broadway Playhouse, Cadillac Palace, and CIBC Theatres, and the Oriental Theatre which this year was renamed the James M. Nederlander Theatre in Jimmy’s honor. He produced over one hundred acclaimed Broadway musicals and plays including Annie, Applause, La Cage aux Folles, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Me and My Girl, Nine, Noises Off, Peter Pan, Sweet Charity, The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickelby, The Will Rogers Follies, Woman of the Year, and many more. “Generous,” “loyal” and “trusted” are just a few of the accolades his friends use to describe him. Abstract This dissertation approaches news coverage of the 39 victims found dead in a lorry in Essex, in October 2019. After a complicated identification process mired with mistakes and mediated by newspapers, including the Essex police’s incorrect identification of the victims as Chinese, all 39 victims were finally identified as Vietnamese. This occurred against the backdrop of Vietnamese communities having been historically excluded from the UK’s public consciousness. -

Illinois Humanities | August 2020 GRANTEE SPOTLIGHT Three Questions: Q&A with Myrna Salazar, co-founder & executive director, Chicago Latino Theater Alliance (CLATA) Project “Destinos” 3 rd Annual Chicago International Latino Theater Festival Location Chicago, IL Organization Founded in 2016 through a new collaboration between the National Museum of Mexican Art, the International Latino Cultural Center, and the Puerto Rican Arts Alliance, CLATA aims to produce the country’s leading Latino theater festival (“Destinos”), to provide organizational and financial support for Chicago’s Latino theater groups, and to build a permanent home for Chicago’s Latino theater companies to thrive and grow. Project “Destinos” takes place at several venues throughout Chicago, with over 93 performances, 10 student matinees, 50 post-show discussions, 4 panel discussions, and 3 workshops. Last year the festival presented work by 5 local theatre companies, 3 national companies, and 3 international companies. Primary partnerships for last year’s festival included Aguijón Theatre Co., Repertorio Latino Theatre Co., Teatro Vista, Urban Theatre Co., and Water People Theatre, as well as Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Goodman Theatre, and Steppenwolf Theatre. Q1 What is the most important thing people should know about your work? Myrna Salazar: The Chicago Latino Theater Alliance (CLATA) is unique, because for the first time in Chicago, three of the most prominent and long-standing Latino arts and culture organizations joined forces to increase awareness of Latino Theater. CLATA was co-founded in 2016 by Executive Director, Myrna Salazar, Carlos Tortolero, National Museum of Mexican Art (NMMA), Pepe Vargas, International Latino Cultural Center (ILCC) and Carlos Hernandez, Puerto Rican Arts Alliance (PRAA) who collectively bring over 75 years of arts programming in Chicago. -
