Today’s Scripture: John 11:20-26
Then Martha, as soon as she hear d tha t Jesus w as c oming, w ent and me t Him, but Mar y w as sitting in the house. 2 1 No w Martha said t o Jesus, “Lor d, if Y ou had been her e, m y br other w ould not ha ve died. 22 But e ven no w I kno w tha t wha tever Y ou ask of God, God will giv e Y ou.” 2 3 Jesus said t o her , “ Your br other will rise ag ain.” 2 4 Martha said t o Him, “I kno w tha t he will rise ag ain in the r esurrection a t the las t da y.” 2 5 Jesus said t o her , “I am the r esurrection and the lif e. He who believes in Me, though he ma y die, he shall liv e. 2 6 And whoe ver liv es and belie ves in Me shall never die. Do y ou belie ve this? ”
BECAUSE JESUS IS THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE… WE EXPERIENCE THE GRACE OF GOD THAT BRINGS HOPE
“Lord, if you had been here m y brother would not have died. ”
“But I kno w that e ven no w God will give you what ever you ask. ”
“For He mus t reign un til He has put all His enemies under His f eet. The las t enem y t o be destroyed is death. F or ‘“ God has put e verything under His f eet.”’ I Cor 15:25-27
John in the R evelation t ells us tha t “Death and Hell will be c ast in to the lak e of fire. ” R ev 20:14
Death is an enem y, but it is a de feated f oe.
“Jesus said t o her , ‘I am the resurrection and the lif e. He who belie ves in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoe ver lives and belie ves in Me shall ne ver die. ’” John 11:25-26
“…knowing that Chris t, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion o ver Him. ” R omans 6:9
“Yet a lit tle while and the world will see me no more – but you will see me! Bec ause I live, you shall live also. ” John 14:19
Faith enables us t o claim the vict ory in Chris t. “I belie ve that you are the Chris t, the Son of God, who was t o c ome in to the world. ”
BECAUSE JESUS IS THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE… WE EXPERIENCE THE GOODNESS OF GOD THAT OFFERS HEALING
Jesus is pr oactive in dealing with our pain; He alw ays r eaches out t o us.
Jesus s tands with us as w e g o thr ough grie f.
Jesus s tands f or us, our adv ocate, as w e f ace the gr ave.
“Therefore, when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Je ws who c ame with her weeping, He groaned in the spirit and was troubled. ” John 11:33
“And Jesus, again groaning in Himself , c ame t o the t omb.” John 11:38
BECAUSE JESUS IS THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE… WE SEE THE GLORY OF GOD THAT BRINGS ETERNAL LIFE
“Did I not say t o you that if you would belie ve you would see the glor y of God? ” John 11:40
“And the W ord bec ame flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glor y, the glor y as of the only begot ten of the F ather, full of grac e and truth. ” John 1:14
“He was delivered o ver f or our sins and raised f or our jus tification.” R omans 4:25
