Toyo Tires® Partners with Stadium SUPER Trucks
May 1, 2014 Toyo Tires® is the Official Tire of SPEED® Energy Formula Off-Road in 2014 CYPRESS, CA – Toyo Tires® is proud to announce it is the official tire of SPEED® Energy Formula Off-Road in 2014. As a result, all Stadium Super Trucks (SST) running in the series will compete on Toyo® Open Country® A/T II tires. Toyo Open Country tires are known for their traction, durability, and uniformity. These qualities provide racers with sure footing for maximum performance, while the introduction of a spec tire further evens the competitive field. The series was founded by former NASCAR® and IndyCar® driver Robby Gordon, who is also an off- road champion and long-time Team Toyo® driver. The 600-plus horsepower SST trucks tackle a serpentine race course with ramp jumps that can launch them 20 feet in the air. Speeds can reach as high as 130-mph, making for a true spectacle to excite the fans. This marks an expanded partnership between the two organizations as Toyo Tires supported the then Stadium SUPER Trucks™ in its inaugural season last year and celebrated winning the overall championship with Gordon. “Toyo Tires is both excited and proud to be the exclusive tire selected by Robby Gordon for the 2014 SPEED Energy Formula Off-Road series,” said Amy Coleman, senior director of marketing, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. “By winning the inaugural Stadium SUPER Truck championship last year, we have proven that Toyo Open Country tires are up to the task of being the spec tire of this exciting series.” “Toyo Tires has been a partner of Formula Off-Road since its inception,” said Gordon, “and we are obviously grateful for their support, but more importantly the tires they provide our competitors are extremely reliable and fit the series perfectly. -
Toyota's First-Ever Camry TRD and Avalon
A Course in Winning: Toyota’s First-Ever Camry TRD and Avalon TRD Models Arrive as TRD U.S.A. Celebrates Four Decades of Motorsports Championships October 23, 2019 NASCAR fans are very familiar with the TRD-developed Toyota Camrys that compete in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. They see them on the track, and in the winner’s circle, like when the NASCAR Camrys took the top three spots in the Gander RV 400 at Pocono Raceway on July 28. Now, fans can also experience track-inspired Camrys on the street with the first-ever Camry TRD. Joining the TRD family also will be the Avalon TRD, creating the best-handling and boldest-looking Toyota sedans ever. Both vehicles receive unique styling developed by Calty Design, Toyota’s U.S. design center. The 2020 Camry and Avalon are the first Toyota sedans to earn the TRD badge with a comprehensive, track- tuned performance enhancement. TRD is Toyota Racing Development, the carmaker’s motorsports division which is also responsible for developing performance-enhanced production models and parts and accessories. The Camry TRD and Avalon TRD models have arrived in dealerships, a great way to wrap up the 40th anniversary year of TRD U.S.A. (Fun fact: the top song on Billboard’s year-end pop singles music chart in 1979 was “My Sharona” by The Knack. Yes, it was that long ago.) The new TRD sedans will have more company, too. The 2020 RAV4 TRD Off-Road model is the first-ever TRD-enhanced version of America’s best-selling compact crossover SUV. -

Competition Plus - Drag Racing Magazine - MICKEY THOMPSON PERFORMANCE TIRES & WHEELS CELEBRATES 50 YEARS 2/6/13 4:23 PM MICKEY THOMPSON PERFORMANCE TIRES & WHEELS CELEBRATES 50 YEARS Feb 06 2013 Founded by the legendary Mickey Thompson and friend Gene McMannis in 1963, Mick- ey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels (Mickey Thompson) today announced it is celebrating 50 years of innovation and product excellence in 2013. Thompson and Mc- Mannis started with a visionary way to design, manufacture and test high performance tires – a legacy that remains the backbone of the company today. “This is an incredible milestone for our company,” stated Ken Warner, VP Sales & Mar- keting, Mickey Thompson. “We want to celebrate this achievement and commemorate this anniversary by honoring both our history and the future of our company.” A Brief History of Innovation In 1963, the company began with the development of a new open-wheel racing tire that had a softer compound and a lower profile giving racers a lower center of gravity and greater stability, and then offered a 12-inch wheel to complement the tire. The following year, a 15-inch tire and wheel combination was added and Mickey Thompson became the first tire company to offer 50-, 60- and 70-series “Indy Profile” tires. In the ‘70s, the legendary ET Drag tires for the strip were introduced and the company http://www.competitionplus.com/drag-racing/news/24055-mickey-thompson-performance-tires-a-wheels-celebrates-50-years Page 1 of 4 Competition Plus - Drag Racing Magazine - MICKEY THOMPSON PERFORMANCE TIRES & WHEELS CELEBRATES 50 YEARS 2/6/13 4:23 PM expanded research and development efforts to include tires for the Thompson-founded SCORE off-road and Mickey Thompson stadium short-course racing series. -
