In addition, communication and medias in the 21st century are transforming rapidly through the globalization of organizations and digital technologies. They not only shape organizations and their social structure but they also influence our thinking. Given this particular context, we believe that communication and media scholars have to examine how their theories and models can be translated into practices. Furthermore, they must ask themselves how their theories, philosophies, and principles can offer comprehensive explanations and strategies in these ever-changing environments. For instance, at the end of 2000, East Asia (South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia) faced a financial crisis that also affected business worldwide. Prior to the crisis, these countries were the center for international investments. Now, recovering from adversity, these countries have begun to prosper again, and up until now this region has received 25% of the world foreign direct investment. From a communicational viewpoint, this is an interesting time. Although the crisis has changed the political climate in East Asia, some interesting phenomena have indeed evolved.

  • Missed Takes Towards a Pandemic of COVID-19? a Systematic Literature Review of Coronavirus Related Diseases in Pakistan
Coronavirus Pandemic Missed takes towards a pandemic of COVID-19? A systematic literature review of Coronavirus related diseases in Pakistan Wajiha Haq1, Syed Hassan Raza1, Muhammad Wasif Malik2 1 National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan 2 National Institute of Health, Islamabad, Pakistan Abstract Pakistan is also seeing the profound effect of the outbreak of COVID-19, which demands an urgent investigation of literature and further scientific investigation for cure and prevention. This study has employed the systematic approach for searching the literature from the recently compiled database of researches namely COVID-19 Open Research Dataset (CORD-19) and related diseases. The literature on Pakistan has shown the evidence of human-to-human and animal-to-human transmission of viruses, the presence of antibodies of MERS-CoV in camels, and careless attitude towards preventive measures of such respiratory diseases. There is a lot of gap in the literature regarding coronaviruses and their antibodies creating herd immunity for another coronavirus and COVID-19. In particular to Pakistan, and in general, for other developing countries, a weak health-care system coupled with the trembling economy has many implications of COVID-19 which should be carefully thought-out to combat the spread. Key words: Coronavirus; COVID-19; Pakistan; MERS-CoV; SARS. J Infect Dev Ctries 2020; 14(7):726-731. doi:10.3855/jidc.12771 (Received 07 April 2020 – Accepted 27 May 2020) Copyright © 2020 Haq et al.
