CONTENTS INTRODUCTION 03 THE EMERSON STORY 04 EMERSON KNIVES 06 ACCESSORIES / JEWELRY 34 ANYONE WHO HAS EVER DOUBTED THE TOUGHNESS OF AMERICANS DOESN’T KNOW THE AMERICA THAT I KNOW. WE ARE FARMERS. WE ARE EMERSON BRAND APPAREL 35 TRADESMEN AND CONSTRUCTION WORKERS. WE ARE TRUCK DRIVERS, DOCK WORKERS AND COAL MINERS. WE ARE COPS AND SOLDIERS. WE ARE FIGHTERS AND WE ARE TOUGH. WE ARE AMERICANS. BOOKS / DVDS 36 TECHNICAL INFO 37 IN THE WORDS OF OUR FOUNDER, “EMERSON KNIVES ARE MADE IN AMERICA BECAUSE AMERICA MADE ME. AMERICA GAVE ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO PURSUE MY DREAMS. I AM 100% AMERICAN AND SO ARE EVERY ONE OF MY KNIVES, DOWN TO THE LAST SCREW. 2 3 You Can Count on It INTRODUCTION What can we count on? No matter what the media tells us about how messed up America is, no matter what a bunch of college kids with no life experience have to say, things are not falling apart or self-destructing. When all of their self-induced smoke clears, the American flag still waves proudly, standing watch over all of us. It’s ironic that these same spoiled children attending universities paid for by student loans or with money right out of their parents’ pockets are reaping the benefits of the very system they claim to be victims of. How is this possible? EMERSONKNIVES.COM It’s possible because, here in America, you have the right to believe in things and ideas any way you wish. You can count on it, just like you can count on the police to come to your aid every time you dial 911. 2018 CATALOG In America, you have the right to protest anything you want because you can count on other Americans to put on the uniform and charge willfully into harm’s way to guarantee your freedom to march in the streets. You can count on millions of Americans to wake up every morning and trudge off to work to keep the gears turning, the motors running, and the crops growing. You can count on hard-working Americans to keep the water running and the power on so you can watch pampered athletes stand down during the national anthem while being paid millions of dollars for playing a game. In a time when young men are offended by “micro aggression,” thank God there are still plenty of tough-minded, self-sufficient Americans you can count on to step up, face the adversity and challenges real life throws at them, and know that they will shake it off and carry on. That small attention-seeking minority has no idea how much they count on the rest of us, even though we can’t count on them. We live in a time of great opportunity and great prosperity. It’s still an America where being smart and working hard pays off for those who are willing to do so, every day of the week. You can count on it. Those whose aim is to tear us down have no perspective on how lucky they truly are to live under the protection of the American flag. You can count on America. You can count the courage and hard work of Americans. You can count on Emerson Knives. God Bless America. – ERNEST EMERSON | 2018 4 5 WHEN EMERSON KNIVES WAS CONCEIVED, OUR STORY THE EMERSON STORY Our story begins with the vision of our founder, Ernest Emerson, who started making custom knives in his garage back in 1979. He rapidly rose to prominence as an expert knife maker, due in equal parts to his expertise as a craftsman, his artistic eye for THE FIRST TACTICAL design, and his practical experience as one of the world’s most sought-after and respected hand-to-hand combat instructors. Emerson Knives Incorporated was formed by Ernest with one single goal in mind: build the best military and law enforcement edged weapons in the world. The result was a whole new knife category—“Tactical Knives”—and they took the world by EMERSONKNIVES.COM storm. The iconic Emerson CQC-7 became the #1 tactical knife of all time, and it still dominates the market over 20 years later. KNIFE WAS BORN. Today, Emerson Knives are coveted by elite military and law enforcement units around the world and have set the standard by which all other tactical knives are judged. They have served the world’s most elite special operations soldiers in every world 2018 CATALOG conflict and secret mission for over two decades. They have been carried into harm’s way with the U.S. Navy SEAL Teams, Delta Force, Army Special Forces, Army Rangers, U.S. Marines, CIA Special Activities Division, and even the legendary British SAS, founder of modern counter-terrorist forces. An Emerson CQC-7 that was used in the raid that killed Osama Bin Laden even sold for $35,400, making it the world’s most expensive and valuable production knife. Emerson Knives employs over 20 hardworking Americans who every day push our products to go the extra mile and support your mission in life. Our founder continues to oversee operations and is the author of scores of articles, books, and videos on tactics, training, and combat. He is one of the most sought-after instructors in the world and is in high demand for seminars and lectures to civilian, military, and law enforcement agencies. He’s also an inducted member of The Black Belt Hall of Fame, The United Sates Martial Arts Hall of Fame, and is the only knife maker who owns and operates his own training facility, the world-class Black Shamrock Combat Academy Gym in Los Angeles. In a day and age when most knives are designed by graphic artists and just-out-of-school twenty-somethings who’ve never used a knife for anything other than sharpening a pencil, the Emerson name continues to stand head and shoulders above the rest. WHY AN EMERSON KNIFE? Because only the best will do. And having the best at your disposal never puts you at a disadvantage. Emerson knives are the “best of the best,” designed and built for hard men and women who are described the same way. Incorporating cutting-edge designs, an artist’s eye for form, an engineer’s knowledge of mechanics, and a tactical operator’s knowledge of function, our knives have forever changed the face of the cutlery industry. If you want to carry the “real deal,” a “Tactical Knife” you can depend on to perform flawlessly in most any conditions or circumstances, there’s really only one choice. Carry a knife from the company that invented the tactical knife. Carry an Emerson. 6 7 THE DOG THAT NEVER RUNS OUT OF FIGHT. E D I T O R I A L Violence Sometimes Is The Best — And Only Solution THE bromide sounds so good and comfy: “Violence never solves anything!”. That’s why so many people accept it. That’s why they unthinkingly pass it on. That’s why, despite it’s being bullshit, the damn catch phrase has become almost a guide for those poor saps who now live in a feral world and who feel helpless to deal with it. “Well,” they tell themselves, “violence certainly is no solution. We’ve just got to find ways to encourage dialog with troublemakers, and talk out our differences.” The truth is that while always regrettable, recourse to physical force is sometimes desperately necessary and completely justifiable. This fact —— this concept —— was once understood as being axiomatic. No sane person questioned, for example, that the absolute right to self-defense existed for everyone; everywhere, and at all times. Today, a great deal of confusion has been allowed to permeate the minds of formerly sensible people, and we observe such horse manure as “zero tolerance for violence” being announced as policy in the public schools —— making a bully’s victim as culpable as the bully if that victim defends himself.

I was there to witness it and can tell you that the place was taken apart and sold off to the highest bidder. In many cases the high bid was just a few dollars, much of the equipment went for pennies on the dollar. Many of the knives went so high I don’t know if they will ever turn a profit while others, sleepers in many cases, went for practically nothing. While a sad event, it was exciting in many ways, seeing folks I had not seen in a long time and meeting new friends, some of whom I have communicated with for years, and some just met. In just a few days many highs and many lows were experienced, talking with many of the longtime employees of the cutlery was tough, let me tell you. Meeting the wives and families of many of these Tom Williams and Frank Trzaska with the old E Flag from WWII talented people was tougher yet. • Rules and Options
Rules and Options The author has attempted to draw as much as possible from the guidelines provided in the 5th edition Players Handbooks and Dungeon Master's Guide. Statistics for weapons listed in the Dungeon Master's Guide were used to develop the damage scales used in this book. Interestingly, these scales correspond fairly well with the values listed in the d20 Modern books. Game masters should feel free to modify any of the statistics or optional rules in this book as necessary. It is important to remember that Dungeons and Dragons abstracts combat to a degree, and does so more than many other game systems, in the name of playability. For this reason, the subtle differences that exist between many firearms will often drop below what might be called a "horizon of granularity." In D&D, for example, two pistols that real world shooters could spend hours discussing, debating how a few extra ounces of weight or different barrel lengths might affect accuracy, or how different kinds of ammunition (soft-nosed, armor-piercing, etc.) might affect damage, may be, in game terms, almost identical. This is neither good nor bad; it is just the way Dungeons and Dragons handles such things. Who can use firearms? Firearms are assumed to be martial ranged weapons. Characters from worlds where firearms are common and who can use martial ranged weapons will be proficient in them. Anyone else will have to train to gain proficiency— the specifics are left to individual game masters. Optionally, the game master may also allow characters with individual weapon proficiencies to trade one proficiency for an equivalent one at the time of character creation (e.g., monks can trade shortswords for one specific martial melee weapon like a war scythe, rogues can trade hand crossbows for one kind of firearm like a Glock 17 pistol, etc.).

The name, personifies Spyderco’s line of folding knives with clips. The verb refers to the physical action of being able to clip the knife to your clothing. We’re human and creatures of convenience. Minute by minute we create, adjust and are predisposed to gravitate to the tool that performs best and is easily applied to the task in front of us. Illustrating that instinctive quest for the best, explains the success of the CLIPIT knife. Almost all Spyderco knives are CLIPITs. The idea surfaced in the 1980s when Sal Glesser (Spyderco’s founder) imagined, then designed, a folding pocketknife with three revolutionary features: A clothing clip, a way to open the knife with one-hand (The Spyderco Round Hole) and serrations on a folding knife blade. These concepts lifted pocketknife function to a higher level. Clips shifted the knife’s weight from the bottom of a pocket to the top, attaching the knife inside so it sat/rode flat regardless of size and wasn’t as likely to be dropped or lost. The Spyderco Round Hole enabled the folder’s blade to open with one hand, leaving your other hand free.
