TONIGHT’S GAME The Flyers visit the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight in their 11th game of the season and sixth on the road. The Flyers are 5-5-0 and have lost two in a row for the first time this season after a 5-4 setback in Ottawa on Tuesday night. This game wraps up a short two-game swing for the Flyers but is the second of four in five played away from the Wells Fargo Center. A stop at home on Monday for the team’s next contest, against the Arizona Coyotes, splits up two two-game road trips; next week the Flyers will head out on a back-to- back to Chicago and then St. Louis before returning home to host Colorado on Nov. 4.

Heading into Friday’s games, Gostisbehere was tied for the league lead in scoring among defensemen and led the league among defensemen in power play points with seven, all assists. Gostisbehere has contributed to all but one of the eight power play goals the Flyers have scored this year.

Wayne Simmonds recorded his fourth game-winning goal of the season last Saturday vs. Edmonton, having secured the victory in all but one of the Flyers’ five wins. That matches his total from the entire 2016-17 season and is two short of his career high of six, set in 2014-15. Simmonds is tied for the league lead in that category with Brandon Saad of Chicago. He has six goals on the season, making him one of several players tied for fourth most in the NHL, and has scored three of those goals on the power play, which ties him for third-most on the circuit. Simmonds has led the Flyers in goals in each of the last four seasons and is coming off two consecutive 30+ goal seasons.

Sean Couturier's seven goals put him in a group tied for third most in the league. He's posted two three-point games and two two-goal games this season. Through 11 games, he is halfway to his total of 14 goals in 66 games last year. His career high is 15 goals in 82 games in 2014-15.

The Flyers have scored 34 goals on the season and remain tied for fifth in the NHL in goals scored despite tallying only eight goals in their last four games.

The Flyers have been charged with 26 giveaways in the last two games (13 per game). They had been charged with 66 in the eight games prior to that (8.25 per game).
