Real Aid held its first ever Teddy Bears Picnic and Summer Fayre at the Tickton Vil- lage Hall on July 29th Mr Michael Woods East Yorkshire Town Crier opened the day and as the sun shined over Tickton well over 1500 people came through the doors to sample handcrafted gifts from some of the areas best crafters. Roary from Hull FC and Stilt walker Alice enter- tained the children as they sat and enjoyed picnics on the grass. There were Teddy Bears galore as KCFM entertained the crowds. Local singer Laura Prescott and the Shivna dancers enthralled the crowd with their talents. Beverley Westwood Dog Training Club also invited dog owners to bring their pooches along and enter a fun competition. This all ensured that a thoroughly enjoyable day was had by all. Real Aid organised the event to help raise awareness of the projects it has within the area sup- porting families and children and those less fortunate. It proved to be a great all round family day out resulting in Real Aid raising well over £3300 to date and donations still continue to come in. The team at Real Aid would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated on the day both by donating, volunteering and visiting and of course the wonderful village of Tickton that allowed us to host it at their beautiful village hall We hope everyone enjoyed themselves and we hope to make this an annual event on the Real Aid fundraising calendar.
