LHP Travis Wood (3-6, 6.80) vs. RHP (8-7, 3.00)

SAN DIEGO NOTES • Luis Perdomo worked 5.1 innings, snapping his 10-start streak of working 6.0 innings-or-more…he forced six groundouts and five flyouts in the game, and entering the contest, he led all Major League with a 63.3 ground ball percentage (minimum 146.0 innings pitched)…despite surrendering a career-high-tying six walks (also: May 22, 2016 vs. LAD), he allowed four hits and two runs (earned) en route to his eighth victory of the season…he is one win short of his career high he set last season. • , in his first game back since being optioned to Triple-A El Pason on August 18, hit his 21st home run of the season, putting the Padres up 3-0 in the first…it was Renfroe’s first home run since July 25 vs. NYM…dating back to May 21, he has hit safely in his last five games vs. ARI, hitting .450 (9-for-20) with two doubles and three home runs. • C Austin Hedges hit his 18th home run of the season to make it a 4-1 score…his three home runs against the D- Backs are the most he has hit against any team this season. • Christian Villanueva made his Major League debut, reaching base for the first time in the fourth inning on a fielder’s choice. • The Padres accrued only four hits in the game, and they own a 3-20 record when logging four-or-less hits in a game…they are now 14-64 when their opponent has outhit them.

ARIZONA NOTES • After being saddled with the loss, Patrick Corbin snapped his three-game winning streak on the road, now owning a 3-1 record and a 2.00 ERA (6 ER, 27.0 IP) in his last four starts on the road…his two home runs allowed marked the the first time he had given up multiple home runs since August 1 at CHC. • The D-Backs’ bullpen combined for 3.0 innings of shutout ball…they did not allow a single hit and fanned three Padre batters...it is only the second time this season that the Arizona bullpen has worked 3.0-or-more innings and not allowed a single hit (other: when the ‘pen combined for 3.2 innings of hitless ball on June 27 vs. STL). • With his single in the third inning, set his career high in a season with his 145th hit…he has hit safely in five of his last six games opposite San Diego, hitting .353 (6-for-17) with six RBI in that time…Peralta exited the game in the bottom the sixth inning due to tightness in his right quad.
